Do any of you actually play the game? Have you ever played the game? The WoW players bitch and moan about people coming in their forums bashing WoW, and I agree with them. Play what you like. If you like WoW, then great. It's a simple quick game to have a little fun with now and then, and has graphics that fit the mood of the game. That's great, I don't go WoW bashing, or trying to tell people that things do or don't exist in WoW that may or may not exist. I even have stuck up for WoW when the bashing got too rediculous or outlandish. I don't like the game because it is boringly repetitive and the gameplay is overly simplistic. My choice. I play what I like. Plus, I don't like getting ripped off from Blizzard waiting 2 full years for a horrible expansion pack. People moan about "what SOE has done", but totally overlook the atrocities of Blizzard.

I can't believe, between the two last posts, not one of them recognize THE VERY FIRST QUEST IN THE GAME. I guess it could be considered delivery, maybe, as you are to deliver yourself to the trainer. Anyways, here's the list of things in EQ2 you can do for xp:

    Quests:

    1. Kill quests: Well duh, of course there are killing quests in about every mmo I can remember.

    2. Go to ----, or Find ----: Several quests are just basic find this person, or place. It's the first quest in the game, how could you miss it?

    3. Delivery: Take this, or these, to someone or somewhere. Could be under 2 as well I guess. My favorite is the quest in Stormhold to bring artifacts to the guy up top. I snuck through the entire dungeon and didn't fight once.

    4. Riddles: Solve riddles and negotiate areas to finish. No killing, no fighting, just plain old solve the riddles or negotiate an area without dying in a certain amount of time. In fact, most of the time if you do kill or fight, you'll probably fail the quest. There is an entire raid zone dedicated to solving riddles to get to the end guy. You can't even get through the zone if you're killing in this zone.

    5. Collection: Again, no killing involved, unless you're doing Lore and Legends. Pick up stuff off the ground and complete collections for experience and a prize. If you have enough money, you don't even have to do that. Money is like pixels in this game. If you can't make money, you're not playing.

    6. Bodyguard (Escort): Some quests involved just taking someone somewhere, or in one case a dog. Stupid dog, got me killed so many times...

    7. Crafting: There's a whole separate game in tradeskilling. There's even major quest lines that include crafting, no killing here.

    8. Cataloging (spelling?): You don't have to kill anything. Just find the creature and put it in your journal. OMG, how simple is that?

    9. Language: There are several language quests that require finding runes, or dropped loot, to study to learn a new language, which, get this, this is really mind-blowing, open other quests or quest-lines. One line of quests involved finding runes all over Norrath to learn the dragon language, and you don't kill one single thing.

    Exploration:

Every time you enter a new area you get achievement experience as well as regular experience. Just for walking around looking at stuff. You don't even have to carry a sword or know a spell. (except maybe evacuation )

Seriously, if you don't like the game, or it's not your cup of tea, then so be it. Not everything is for everyone. I can't stand it when people pretend to know about the game and come on here lying about it.

We haven't even touched guild experience. There's a whole different line of collections and quests that boost your guild level as well to give you even cooler things for your guild. There's even house gift quests that give you items for your home to decorate and personalize your character's living quarters. There are so many different aspects of this game that absolutely blow away WoW and I would be ashamed that I spent money on that game. To each his own.

Btw, I beta'd LOTRO. It SUCKS in a massive way. HUGE HUGE disappointment and waste of time.
Quest are just more killing of monsters. That's it. There aren't any puzzle quest, riddles you have to figure out, things you can talk your way out of, etc. Everywhere you go there is killing. This is what has annoyed the hell out of me when it comes to thinking about the name Everquest. There is a reason why EQ1 was called Neverquest cause you really don't quest at all. You get told to do certain things and almost always it has to do with killing. Killing as the purpose of the so called quest. Or killing to go pick something up and killing on your way back. If you have to collect something you have to kill some more. Not to single Everquest out for this, it's a problem with every mmorpg. You can't even craft without killing due to roaming monsters that aggro on you or places of resources nodes.

Ohh..Sorry but there is LOTS of PUZZLE type of Quests in EQ2..You just didnt look hard enough :)

Damn and to think I thought I was leveling too quick with my combat exp off. I swear between discorery and quest turn in exp I seem to be lvling alot faster then Planed. I'm 45 and only have 56 aa and stupid quests keep giving me lvls.

Grinding mobs in this game is pointless you'll screw yourself on aa. No reason to rush to 70.

You know not that I think about it you are correct if you want to gain all the AA you can post level 10 you will probably need to turn combat EXP off every 5 levels to make sure you hit all the tier quests...  Think I will roll up a healer and give it a try.

I am questing Kill MOB x for the 99iest time.

I am grinding Kill Kill Kill Kill
my necro is L48 with 100% bonus, its even to slow with bonus xp now.i dont play him anymore.

my wizard is L33 and i can only play him with bonus xp, mobs got so many HP that as wizard i need 50% mana every kill.
I have 2-3 hours a day and i honestly would like to play, my problem on GUK is that the most people are Level 60+.
In the last 4 weeks of my re-activated subscribtion of my 1007 days old account i have grouped ONE time. ONE !! time, the rest i had to spend solo.
EQ2 got horrible for me, casual playing is a pain without Bonus XP. I wont ever reach Level 70.
the only solution is to Quit ???

Try starting a healer and grouping all the time. Healing is better than people think.

At first, I saw this thread and I was like wtf? There's no way anyone's complaining about this, and couldn't figure out why this thread even existed at all, then I saw the DATE.

Dude, how did you find this thread? You had to have dug at least 5-6 pages deep.
