Take my by the hand,
I don’t have to fear,
I don’t have to think,
I never had to die,
Never had to search,
Never had to interact.
Take me by the hand,
I can jump of a cliff and survive.
I don’t have to fear player,
Neither monster.
I feel
so alive.
Take me by the hand,
Make me follow a path,
So I never get lost.
Thank you, LOTRO
For creating a world,
Where dumb people can finally say:
I am.

----ITS A TRAP!!!----
/point
His point is it makes WOW look like a hardcore gamer MMO
Which I agree. LotRo is way too dumbed down for me.
People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Let the LotRO MMO wars begin......
Fanbois vs Haters all over again. NOoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooOOoooooooooo

I had the exact same feelings when I played LOTR. I totally agree with the poet. It is too dumbed down and there is no enjoyment because there is nothing to fear in this game. Since there is no challenge, I don't find a purpose of playing LOTR and can't even call it a game. Because, a game is supposed to be fun and challenging.
Who cares about high level content? Newbie zones are enough to comment about a useless junk which can't even be called a game.
Bye LOTR.
Even WoW, which is not a reference for difficulty, made me die a few times in the begining if I was not cautious.
Even WoW, which is not a reference for difficulty, made me die a few times in the begining if I was not cautious.
I can't really recall any mmorpg I've played where i died in the first 10 lvls, AC1 was the soonest pve death at lvl 11, for DAoC, Coh, WoW and others it was after lvl 15. Hell, for SB my first death was after leaving newb island at lvl 20, of course that was to another player, In VG i never died before i just found it too lacking. If EVE had lvls, my first death would have to have been after i got my 3rd or 4th ship and that was to another player. So basically your experiences are different than others.
Interesting thing about Lotr, I tried out a hobbit as a test and after the newbie area i was able to lvl from 6 to 13 without doing any fighting whatsoever before i got bored with it. All the little fedex quests add up. I can't remember the last game that let you do that.
Speaking from my experience with the free trial:
Most of the newbie zone content was soloable, I imagine a lot of it stays soloable through out the whole game. But when you get to the chapter quests (LOTR storyline stuff) its really hard to solo at the level 15 cap. Some of the elite zone quests and the class quests get really hard to solo also. If you go around to every newbie zone you can get to 15 without too much trouble. Of course when you do a quest thats blue or green...what can you expect? WoW isn't any different that way. The quests that are labeled for fellowships (teams) are pretty accurate I found.
Its too bad they capped the free trial at lvl 15, I would have loved to have done the zone PvP (Monster Play/Ettenmoors) vs real lvl 50 players. I think MP is a great concept for people just getting into the game to be able to do the high end PvP at lvl 10. I'm sure they'll add more zones with different objectives in the future, I was never a fan of long drawn out PVP.
I guess there's a lot of places to go with the storylines without completely blowing the LOTR one, the quests kept my attention.
So, to the OP, nice poem, but I don't think you can get a good feel for how hard the game is in 15 lvls.

Did anyone read my "Sense of danger is gone in MMO's" thread? Yeah I think it applies to LOTRO as well.
I agree.
As I've always said about free trails with MMOs: As the most challenging content is usally as the end of the game, it would be logical to give players a capped character for a few days, that said it would spoil the lore aspect of gaming... On the other hand if the content was too hard in the early stages, we would get the same players complaining that they couldn't even level their character.. Devs can't win either way plus deaming a game 'easy' and 'poor' purly on it's first 15 levels just shows how picky and harsh some people are, or just too devoted to the one game to 'allow' any game to be 'better'..
Everything said I think the players here in the EU got a better 'view' of LOTRO, although as with WAR I think the IP is more 'desired' over here..
Bring on the WARRRRGGHH!
An exelent poem in terms of getting the message across.
