Roleplayers I encountered all had this story, I have yet to find a roleplayer with a bit of originality. Roleplaying in WoW is constantly hearing the same conversations over and over again from bad actors.
Thats so freakin funny, and true, I just had to reply. I tried a RP, transfered a char to it with quite a bit of gold and some nice epics, and they hacked every bit of it. Somehow you hackin RPer's ought to use that story line. ..." And there I was, with my family, and we saw a Taurin ride by on his Kodo, we couldnt kill him, so we hacked him to death, until he wrote such a nasty e-mail to Blizzerd he could never play the game again." the un funny part of this story is, ironically, at the same time the motherboard, and hard drive on my brand new 5k puter went flewy. I guess that would be a good reason not to use your good machines for WoW.
For those of you that bothered to watch, this kind of ridiculous thing is one of the many reasons why I don't play WoW at all anymore, roleplay went from good, to plain stupid where people would argue over the tiniest details in fights and such like, then it went completely down hill and pretty much got replaced by raiders. Anyone disagree with me? Then take a look at the Argent Dawn forums, tons of people are finally admitting to it after I said several times they needed to do something about this. It's sad really, I enjoyed the roleplay there at the beginning of the game, but like everything else it's just gotten crap as it went along.
Quoting people doesn't make you clever, in fact, it makes you all the more stupid for not bothering to read the quotes you post in the first place.
Loved the comic! LOL Say to say, can't blame your perspective. I do RP servers because there seems to be less 'kiddiots' there than other servers. Keep up the art work!
Ditto!
Sad to say, they are becoming very similar to normal servers now...

The sad truth about roleplaying servers, in any game, is that a whole bunch of people roleplay really, really badly. And everyone has different opinions about what roleplaying is, and what is tolerable, and what isn't.
But if you're in Europe and you play WoW, I think that the realm Earthern Ring (Alliance) has a very strong RP community that isn't too silly is pretty warm and interesting.
Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
Basically, to my way of thinking role playing is story telling. If you have a creative, fertile mind, you could easily derive at least one good story per week. I used to visit a strictly role playing forum a few years back for Lineage 2. I think the name was L2 Roleplayer's Associations or something to effect. Anyway, it was quite interesting to read some of the more creative stories and imagine how I might have seen it, or would have solved the problem at hand.
Role play is just good times...if you don't particular care for someone's story, then create one based on one of your own adventures.
Cheers!

This happened in EQ also. I tried rolling on an RP server, joined an RP guild, and basically heard non-stop "MY DAD WUZ KILT BY DUDEZ LOL OK GRIND ORCS" over and over.
The best MMORP for me was in Ultima Online. It was much easier when you could actually get owned by going to a fort of actual players pretending to be orcs.

I mean... your family could have been killed by trolls! And smoked to death... or something!
Or maybe they could have been turned into Undead! Yeah!
Or killed when Arthas stormed the castle, but didn't make it into the undead-frame...
Okay, now I'm actually thinking too much. This was originally supposed to be a joke.

I love the Noob comic! Not much else to say.

Sad but true the Rp servers are becoming more and more like regular servers.
