Returning to DAoC after 4 years

DrenethDreneth Member Posts: 697

Greetings all,

I resubscribed last night after a 4 year break, and spent the night last night relearning how to play my lvl 32 Blademaster.  I am absolutely amazed that Mythic still had my account information on file...  hell, my old Guild is still there!  Of course, I am the only member at the moment...  lol ...me and one of my alts.

I'm on Bedevere, so if anyone is interested in grouping up at some point for some hunting, lemme know!  My main's name is Dreneth.

Man... it's good to be home.  ;)

Welcome back aboard, most "new players" start on the bosinesy cluster (the classis servers) since you dont need to grind TOA to be competitive -therefor they have the highest load - so consider it as an alternative if you cant play with your friends where you are now. Dont worry about leveling back to the level you are now, the game is pvp centric - you can totaly level while BGing, all the resting timers have been improved, there are buff potions, heck you can be 50 in a week without stressing yourself. Enjoy

Know how you feel.It was my first mmorpg and i loved every bit of it.Gone back a year ago but where i was it was empty and all of my guildmates quit as well as all of my ingame friends.I quit after a day thinking i'd better keep the memory of how it was alive.

Hope you enjoy the game and good luck with it

I've been gone so long that none of my old DAoC friends are around anymore... my friends list is empty  /sigh

I've always loved the RvR aspect of DAoC, and it appears that it is even more active now than it used to be...  I kept seeing all of the "Hibernia takes this, Albion takes that, Midgard took something else" messages while I was *snicker* catching up with my epic quest line.  lol

Forgive my ignorance... but what is the difference between classic and ToA servers?  Can I not play the ToA expansion while on a classic server?  It's been a long time since I've been "up to date" with DAoC.  lol

It was my first as well, and still my favorite after all of these years.  I have made the decision that even if I play another game (Pirates of the Burning Sea) I wil keep my DAoC account active...  it's just too much fun not to.  I'm currently loving exploring all of the places I used to love to go... and now with improved graphics!  lol

So far I am having a blast, and thanks!

On classis everything that says TOA has been taken out but the races that came with it, so no zones, no arties, no MLs no nuthin that was found there = less grinding -> more pvp :)

Besides there are a lot more people on classic which makes for bigger battles in BGs and such, altho its your choice in the end - id suggest reading the latest 10 patches on the camelotherald or 15  to see what big changes occured

Ahhh... gotchya!  What of the other expansions?  Are they also restricted on classic servers?  Or are they in full effect?  I never did anything with ToA anyway, so I wouldn't be missing much.

Bigger BG's are definitely a good thing!  So much fun!  As for reading the patch notes...  I was thinking I should... but dreading it.  That's a lot of patches to read about.  lol

I fired up a new character on Gareth last night...  Seems to be rather populated there.  :)

Now...  the next question... any Guild suggestions?

You can set yourself as looking for guild by typing /LFG , the downside of this is that you have to quit the starterguild.

you can check camelot herald's Guild news. There are always few guilds looking for members
