WOW is the best game ever made... 8 million people can't wrong.

in World of Warcraft
What do you get when you get the two most awesome uber players from a game that provided many  "Don't make future MMORPGs like this" lessons, put them together with a team of highly skilled graphics artists, game programmers, etc... 10 years of delivering top of the line award winning games?



The answer is quite simple, you get the BEST GAME EVER MADE, and that will EVER BE made for that matter.



Anyone that doesn't agree that World of Warcraft is the epitome of all that is MMORPG can keep their opinions to themselves. Your anti-WOW posts should be censored, your opinion does not matter, you must have played the game in beta 2, or on a 486, or just not like Blizzard because they changed Diablo in ways that you just found so distressful after a year of your time investment. But since we can't simply censor the internet, many fools are trying however, if you do indeed not enjoy WOW, then you MUST post a 10,000 word in-depth thesis discussing in depth every single facet of the game you did not like. Which can be easily discreted in one line by one of our many rabid fans.

    So your saying because the Nazi Party had millions of germans in thier ranks, that they were right? So your telling me the mass murder and genocide of an entire race was acceptable because alot of people agreed with it, and did it.

    To equate what I wrote, with what you wrote probably means you already are sick my friend. Millions of women thought women should vote too, Nazis, every single one of us. In fact, whenever a mass of people think something is good, like greenhouse gas reduction, preserving the environment, ending starvation and war, we must all be Nazis.

    Well, the game IS good.

    It is targeted towards Casual players (generally, though there is Raid content).

    And, we can now say that Casual players outnumber the 'Hardcore' by thousands to one.

    But, there WILL be better games than WoW coming for the Casual player.

    There are already better ones for the more-than-casual player.

    EQ2, EVE, DAoC, and others.

    But, I suspect the OP was just tossing gasoline onto the fire in the hopes of seeing massive flames leap up.

    Pitty the hobby is so full of Griefers and Sociopaths.

      Actually I think wow is ok. still have 2 accounts active and 2 sons playing it for a total  of 4 accounts. but best game ever, not hardly.

    So you like WoW and everyone who doesn't is dumb.  Check. You said something about the greatest game every made by what metric you gauge that I have no idea but if its numbers you need to declare the Sims the undisputed champion. If you mean MMO's I believe that honor goes to Lineage but I could be mistaken on that point. So Maybe on that point I'm not sure.

    Still your argument is an appeal to majority. Which is flawed for the simple reason that the overwhelming amount of people on this planet don't play WoW.  Can 6 billion people be wrong?

    Hmm, that DOES sounds pretty fascist...  How can you have a forum discussion if the people who disagree with you have to "move on" and keep their mouths shut?  Lets be honest, posting things like this is the equivalent to say, asking for a 30 minute prison shower, no mercy.  And I do disagree BTW, its a popular MMORPG no doubt, but its not the best in my opinion, and it sure is hell isn't the best "game".  That title goes to Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time.  Am I right folks?

    Now this is distressing... How can WOW survive? It is surely going to die? People are creating MMORPG.com accounts for the express purpose of discrediting WOW in this thread... How can viral marketing work, if you all have an opinion contrary to Blizzard's marketing material?



    If you don't enjoy WOW, then how can I possibly enjoy WOW? I need you all to like WOW unconditionally before I can log in again and play this most awesome game... Else I could start doubting my own sense of fun. I... I... think I could even end up having an identity crisis.

    I won't give you the BEST GAME EVER MADE, but I will say it is the most popular game ever made,  Just because it has a lot of subs, doesn't mean it is the best.

    FYI: I did play WoW from beta through until the release of Burning Crusade, which was the reason I left.

    And this is the lesson that should be learnt by the Vanguard community. Everyone will have an opinion, and they will have very valid opinions for disliking something or liking something, and sometimes just hate something cuz hey, ya gotta hate right? If you like a game, play it and have fun... But don't try and censor folks, the world isn't a MMORPG, you can't piss and moan to the developer and get him to nerf everyone around you... or get them to conform to your viewpoint. Live and let live... And have fun.



    Peace out... Satire ftw... Seems most folks take even the most absurd comments seriously these days (this thread was obviously absurd). Sure ya all knew, sure ya did... Don't worry, I believe you... But ya just had to bite and bump it up anyways lol. I should have kept it going for a laugh, but I am sure most folks will skip this post, and keep the thread going anyways, with their repeated a million times opinions. As for the Nazi hunter, he needs a chill pill, fast... And some reading comprehension, and a book of cliches, for variety... If I was harping on about Nazi's I could understand... but I wasn't. All that poster said is, I don't agree with you, but because I am a drama-queen, let's bring in some irrelevant to the discussion emotive analogies. And a game, is compared to the Nazi's... I think he needs to get some perspective, you don't have to go to Nazi Germany, look at the modern World, it will provide all of the emotive analogies you need.



    Kyleran didn't seem to see the parallels with the Vanguard section (maybe they weren't super obvious enough), and I know he/she posts there a lot. In fact, I think the headline was skimmed, an opinion popped into head, and fingers started typing without really reading much at all.



    This is what forums are, emotional opinions for the most part, not a gathering of the intelligentsia, folks should learn to deal with it.

    I already did the WoW satire thing.  I got hated for it.  Mind you, I get hated here simply by pressing 'reply'.  I enjoyed your contribution though, especially the He-Man/Brad McQuaid reference, that was pro.

    Still waiting for your Holy Grail MMORPG? Interesting...
