Whenever someone tries to buy the game or credits for the game, the following sentence appears on the screen:



"We're sorry but game access and credit purchases are not available at this time. Please check back at a later date. Thank you."

    False joy.

    The game is going on, but is now free.

    They're abandonning the C&B payment system.

    Still, no patch since january, the game is as good as dead.

    ARK and Light is currently being improved and heavily reorganized. Due to this and several other problems encountered with the billing service, we have decided to stop using this service and to find another partner.

    As a direct consequence of this decision, Dark and Light is now totally free, without any kind of restriction, until a more satisfying solution can be set up in the months to come. This is applicable to all accounts that were already created, whatever may be their current subscription type – Master, Freedom, or Discovery.

    Due to the termination of this service, any billing or invoicing is of course stopped, including for accounts that were already opened.

    A new system of account creation will be set up in the days to come to allow newcomers to also access Dark And Light for free.

    This game is like Michael Meyers or Jason from slasher films.  

    You constantly expect it to be dead but it just keeps rising up, more rotten and revolting each time. 

    It's the zombie-axe killer of the MMORPG genre!   It never allows those it targets to escape!

    Seriously, this company is only NOW deciding to switch to a new billing method after they been ripping off people for how many MONTHS??  This kind of behavior should have players boycotting the company even if their game was the next best thing since sliced WoW.  (Which many would say it's not)

    While the face of this is most likely true, I believe  that once the new payment system kicks in there will still be problems. Seriously I think this is like a bacteria or virus - some symptoms may recede for a bit but the fraudulent tactics will come back. If you sign up for this rubbish, Farlan WILL scam you and your credit cards.

    I am positive that was the case.  C&B actually has plenty of other customers and did not have a tarnished reputation before D&L--I think.  D&L is just trying to use them as a scapegoat.....

    Can anyone list which other customers C&B has?   I am interested if this was completely a DnL problem or billing partner problem.

    Actually I think that honor goes to Horizons.  It's gone through 4 company changes and a bankruptcy or two.

    Half of me  wants to give it another go as its free at the moment , then again the sting from buying a pioneer account stops me from reinstalling it, and i logged into the forum there was 2 guest and 1 member that was me lol, and for some reason there where  like  19 or 20 mods rofl.

    Actually I just recently received a letter back from the State of New York which was looking into C&B as a fradulent company for allowing Farlen to keep charging players money. So perhaps it was as a result of that, that the two companies finally seperated. The letter I received is dated April 3rd, which states that they have already contacted C&B etc. I don't even recall what I wrote just that someone posted a link to who you could send fraud reports too. This was way back in November or December. Either way it finally got looked at which is pretty damn sweet.

    You have got to be kidding? Either you're joking, or being alone in a game has lead you to try to mislead others, so that you aren't alone in your misery. Which is it?

Which is it? you think all the players are english ? I'm not misleading others. in fact, there are some french guilds are very active. I often lvl with them.

    the game world is pretty huge, even WOW can't beat it if DNL could resolve all the bugs.

     this game is getting better, the Snail Game(chinese company) which creat Voyage Century is improving it. I will give you the new screenshots!

    I thought Realms of Torment/Realms of Krel/Mourning/Age of Mourning/Thrones of Chaos/Era of Shadows?? was the zombie-killer of MMORPGs... I was pretty sure.

    i agree im sure they have sumthing up their sleeves to scam more money of people

    The account creation is just based on a forum account; I didn't have to put any personal information in at all, not even my name. So considering that you don't enter any payment information or even your name, it's safe to give the game a spin.

    For previous subscribers, I would definitely recommend NOT reactivating an old account. Create a new forum account to play on.

    Now when the time comes that Farlan decides they want to start charging again, DNL and I will part ways. I downloaded it mainly from pure curiousity, and although I am enjoying the game for the most part so far, considering their previous business practices as a whole, it would be ludicrous to give them anything as important as my credit card information.

    Maybe Farlan and The "Age of thrones of chaos mourning" people could get together and make a game. I bet it would consist of them stealing each others office supplies and money until eventually only one of them comes out on top.
