well.. i will play it cause its "conan" im kinda interested how they got the lore parts fitting and the spellweaving sounds really interesting to me.. wether it be summoning hells lapdogs or priestly stuff.
no elves is a big plus everyone is human and magic is used interesting in this game as well as the new combat and mount fighting, first person shooting, very interesting things that is a change from all these games that are coming out
The combat system was the first thing that got me interested in this game. After that i have discovered a lot of other things that i like about the game. Atm i am reading "The hour of the dragon", since i want to know something about the lore to, before starting to play Age of conan
i voted for combat , becuase that is what will make me try it ... after i am done with WAR... it may be a year or two tho.

I chose 'because I like Conan', but more accurately the reason is because this MMO looks a lot darker than the others on offer. I really want to play an MMO with lots of realistic violence and adult themes, Im hoping that the Conan IP will deliver that.
finally a game with real combat, sieges, no single focus (i.e. PVP, PVE, Economy), player owned cities and battlekeeps, polish, and most importantly innovation!

I will play it for multiple reasons. For one I enjoyed the Conan Lore. I like the fact that this game will have pvp levels and pve levels, a new combat system, raids, sieges, player housing, mounted combat, spellweaving, among many other things.
Always wanted to play a lich. I don't think Funcom's idea of a Lich is the same as mine (or the same as any notion of Lichdom I've ever seen). But I'm hoping they defy the rather long odds and make a playable game with a playable Lich class. I can see it now, little buzzing herds of Stygian Lichs - somehow that's just wrong. Oh well, well see how it goes.
i will play because i wanna mindlessly kill people or get killed, steal from people, try the drunk brawling, and test out this revolutionary new combat system
Because of the great combat system and the siege battles. If they do it properly it'll be one heck of an mmo. I'll probably play this along with WAR when it comes out. But AoC is by far most promising title yet, on a wonderful license as well!
I'm going to play in hopes it can deliver a better PvP open field/ siege warfare compared to Shadowbane. I'm just afraid of the possibility of zerg warfare, haven't read enough to see if their are counters to this in place.
Sorry if this is off-topic, but this is the reason I will not play AoC. There are already too many games that promote the occult as a means of power and conflict resolution, but now we have games that promote making pacts with and summoning demonic entities, and with the release of Age of Conan, becoming outright possessed by them.
Now getting away from my opinion, to some speculation: If there are demons, they would probably enjoy the glorification that they would recieve from this game.
And finally, here's a question I have to wrap things up. Sramota, are you a satanist?
I'm actually a bit turned off by the combat system. I avoid FPS because the twichiness gives me a headache and I'm not sure I'd like to see it in a MMO. Thank goodness Warhammer should be coming out soon too, since I'm sick of the old MMO's and can't stand Vanguard or LOTRO and AoC looks too fast paced for my sanity. Man, I sure hope Mythic can deliver a good game. Aside from the combat system, I love the other aspects of Conan.
With PvE raiding, it has never been a question of being "good enough". I play games to have fun, not to be a simpering toady sitting through hour after hour of mind numbing boredom and fawning over a guild master in the hopes that he will condescend to reward me with shiny bits of loot. But in games where those people get the highest progression, anyone who doesn't do that will just be a moving target for them and I'll be damned if I'm going to pay money for the privilege. - Neanderthal
I voted for the the 'Combat system' option. However, my main reason is the innovative city building and siege combat, in addition to what sounds like a complex and deep crafting system.

Demonic possession,
the only reason.
Conan I could care less about.
Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
It all sucked.
