Hello everyone, I wanted to invite you guys to my Age of Conan Information blog. - link: aoc-informant.blogspot.com
Well alot of us dont have the time to read over the forums too often, with work, kids, and other real life reasons. Fortunately there is someone that does have the time to look for that information and keep you updated. So with that said feel free to take a look and bookmark it, I will try to keep it as up to date as possible so you dont have to lurk around searching for the latest news!

Do you often get angry over absolutely nothing? It was relevant to your post. You wrote something along the lines of "this site is for people who do not have time to read the forums everyday" and that you would try to keep it updated. The site I linked was one that IS always updated and that if they needed to go find information straight from the devs mouth, they can go right there for accuracy.
Almost forgot to mention that namecalliing is always the best way to get validity for yourself on a forum.

Also, why would you go into this post to link to another page? I mean use some common sense, while I my self link bymitra.com and find that a very informative page as well... its not exactly relevant to this post. The post is about the blog I've created, so no I dont get angry for no reason, and im not really angry just a bit annoyed at the small ammount of common sense you used. On another note, I'll stop replying to you since its rather pointless and getting off topic.

Sigh, maybe it is you who needs to use common sense. You wrote that you will "TRY" to keep information up to date, and I figured I would help everyone out and show them ANOTHER site that "WILL" keep information up to date.
I added to the topic, and now you are mad because there already was a site like that and now you can't shamelessly promote your blog.

Okay, I already explained that I my self have a link to bymitra.com, it is indeed an informative page, and mine is not supposed to be a fan site, rather a news blog... could you just drop it and move along to troll the next thread that comes along?

Any of you by any chance know what happened to the so called "open" beta they talked about, afaik Open Beta isnt something you need to apply to, but you get instant access, is it me or don't the Dev's of AoC know the term Open Beta ?

If you noticed, I was helping the thread, by linking another information site, and then you proceeded to call me a jackass. You tried to start an argument which makes you the troll.
To the poster asking about "open beta" there is none yet. They just took apps for a more broad closed beta, not everyone will get in.

As for why they call it open beta, no they have it correct, people have a misconception of what an open beta is, I will get you the link to a very long post about this topic, so I dont sound like an arse ;p
What are you possibly making "guides" for? Also, if you want to get people to view your blogs, I am sure calling people jackass is not the way to get it done. She/he may have pissed you off because they linked another site, but that was not grounds for childish namecalling.
Back to your site though, I am sure it will turn out nice once you get some information on there. I just want to ask this though, what are you going to have on your site that makes it better than just going to the official site and reading the FAQs posted at the top of every forum they have?

anyways as for just posting whats on aoc already, basicly what any fansite does, is take what the devs say and make it easier to find, for those who dont have the time to read through countless threads and find things, i just make it that much easier...
bymitra is a fine page ive said it many times, and there are many others out there that are good as well... however they also are just saying what the devs have said... im not trying to 'reinvent anything, im just trying to make it easier for those who have less time to search thru countless posts and web pages to find the info... that is all.
As for calling people names you are right its not gonna get anyone anywhere, sorry.
As for the guides, I plan on making guides once the game goes live. Future planning of course.

What makes this better than going to the official site is, that on the official page the information is not all on one page, having to look for everything I posted on say, the classes post I made would take a bit of searching, and its not exactly that easy to look around for forum posts and links on the aoc official web page... basicly i explained pretty much everything that has to do with classes in a matter of like 3 minutes of reading on one page, instead of having to do the searching, I do it for you.
I will keep the latest News up to date, not only from the official web page but other outside sources, like interviews in other languages for example, there are quite a few that arent on the official web page...

Well generally when a game says it goes into open beta it means its like a couple of weeks, 2 months at a max away from launch and they open their servers for all people to stress test the game for them, thats my view of a open beta tester anyhow

That is my opinion of "Open Beta" as well. Open beta meaning open to everyone trying to finalize how big each server should be population wise. Closed is when they get to pick who gets in and who does not.
The game is going live on October 30th, 2007 for PC users and 360 users will have it in 08.
Yeah, unfortunately, I can not find the post from the AoC forums, basicly there was someone asking the same question..
It does make sense for open beta to be.... umm... "Open", but what it seems funcom means by open beta is when they have outside people testing other than their own employees... atleast that is what I got out of the rediculously large thread.... I will continue looking for that thread because they had some rather good points in there... ill keep you posted

As you wrote from the start , some of us yea, have a job , wife , kids etc so actually not alot of time to sit and trying to find the meaning with Open Beta from funcom's side, i tried as well but they didnt really make any sense, im not even sure their humans

Allright , well thanks for the release date info, that would put the real open beta around somewhere late july / august if their ever planning on running one of thoose, because if they take after system specs i dont think ill get a invite since my computer is not really of a small $$ size, and plenty of other uses is running with a high end machine as well, think people with not as good as system spec actually gets a better chance at testing for beta since they need more people who don't have the big pocket ^^

Better read it again. It states "SIgn up for BETA now", it does not say open or closed. When you click it, it takes you to the sign-up, where again it says "open beta" nowhere. It also informs you that there is no guarantee of acceptance, which would indicate a "closed beta".
Ya ya i've read it over and over again, still doesnt satisfy me tho
