My Thoughts about the game

Visual s

I loved landscape ,its charming and adorable, full of landmarks and character , i really felt like just exploring and taking in, all its beauty of the middle earth for i have never seen a mmo game with so many little villages and towns spread all over the land.

Clases.

they have a very slow start and seem quite easy and simple to play, I tried lore master, Hunter and Captain. Captain was boring to play if you are not in a felowship, for it seems his only purpose is to suport other members in the felowship. gets better after level 10.

combat also was too easy , i felt i could go to toilet and leave him to fight , did not need much input

Not very chalenging

I havent died not a once till level 8 , it did not feel chalenging at all and i started feeling bored , but after levek 8 it becomes a little bit better and Monsters are tougher and more chalenging.

Quest Achivement

Well here is my bigest problem with lotre, I felt that nothing I do matter, quest s are very boring and mostly about killing .

Respawn ... is ridiculusly fast , if you are in camp with 4 bandits , even before you killed 4th one , the first one is going to respawn back , all monster are respawning like a rabits ..... it  was totaly  ruining my sense of achivement ,and makes you ask yourself whats the point, and  why are you  doing any of it  .

none quest  felt like a quest  its feels like an endles hunting ..... no matter what class you play , you seem to be always in open killing beasts and playing hunter.

there are no quests wirh dungeons , houses ,caves or whatever , in which you walk in, to solve puzles , kill minions/monsters, find the boss , get treasure, etc , those elements make a quest feel like a quest , yet  in lotre you walk in a spider cave ,, no matter how many you kill they keep respawning in front of your eyes , no puzles or traps .... and rarely boss at the end,

Even In EQ2 they changed respawning , so in over 80 % monsters do not respawn out of thin air, after being killed they come from somewhere else to replace fallen guards etc

Its like a cleaning your own house you need that pleasure of seeing  your house totaly clean after hard work , you dont get that in lotre

no quest gives you feel ing that you done something, (except  for linear instanced epic story that resolve in front of your eyes, but you dont have much influance on that anyway)

There are no treasure to be found in nature(except for mining ), nor colections, no  teasers (like guarded treasures) , like in WOW where you can see a monster guarding a chest in the camp which is always tempting....

In factthere was not a single exciting quest

Eco System is not complete ,

no sea -life , pond life , no  water -animals like turtles or fish , you can not  dive in water nor get drawned , neither lotre has got  any proper  flying animals

WELL GAME IS BEAUTIFULL  LOOKING AND BORING as i said you kill to level and thats it  except if you prefer to spend some time crafting , and crafting is  ok ,

middle earth was getting ready for the war just think of all little plots orcs could be envolved in,  in order to create an adventure, for players, answering the call of dark lord and getting into groups, going deep into caves  plotting , crafting weapons , kidnaping , stealing foods from farms etc , doing the deeds for sauron /saruman .... so many quests could take us there into nest of some exciting adventure ,,,, but in this game there are none all orcs/ monsters  just stand and walk mindlessly , purposlesly ,,,,,, respawning randomly in marshes ,,

and  you never get involved in the middle earth and nothing you do matter, as i am concerned they messed it up ,

this game is totaly outdated gameplay -wise,, and players has no control over anything important

ENJOY Site-seeing and scenary ,  i did

well ,age of conan is the only hope left for serious mmo players

Didn't play very far, did you?

I found snapping turtles and toads; crows and giant insects, what constitutes a "proper" flying animal? Exploring can yield not only mining nodes, but wood, ancient urns containing archeological treasures, various berries, roots and veggies and yes, there is the equivalent of the guarded chest, sometimes even a back pack.

There are quests that require you to solve a mystery and don't require killing at all or at least not as a primary objective.

The classes do have a slow start, like any game the basics come first and more advanced concepts come later. Unlike WoW, for instance, where you just earn more powerful versions of the same spells as a majority of your progression, LotRO keeps introducing new abilities, leaving it up to you to decide on what skills are best placed on your primary bar and how to make best situational use of them.

The "spider caves" does have a "boss" and a quest line that goes along with it, there is an actual story for why the "boss" is there too.

I've found a number of exciting and challanging quests, that you found "not one" shows you didn't do many of them.

While the game is "casual friendly", it's not an easy game. To get the most out of it, you have to put some skill and effort into it. Some people just don't like that I guess...

There is nothing worst when your passion blinds you , thats why you will never sucseed in this industry you need to be objective, no matter , how personally you feel about game

    1st.

yes there was a boss , the spider queen , but quest was so crap and boring that was not even worth to speak of it  ,, well thats the only boss in whole area ,and if you reed my first post you will see i said (and rarely boss at the end)

    2nd

i said there were no water animals , so dont then tell me there were frogs and turtless because those one you ve seen are not in the water , they are just walking on a dry ground.

and yes those insects ,,, for your reference they dont fly ( i sad proper flying) they barely levitate few inches above ground

all you do is hunting or  walking running doing  little errands , but you never do a proper quests

well game is boring , so tell me and this community  when did you have a good time and andrenalin rush

,, at what point in the game

    1. when you went to bury 3 dead man

2, when colecting berries for pie

3 . or when killing 10 bears or wolfs

or when you went to get bloody fishing pool

Not a one  quest in  the first 15 levels is exciting or interesting ...............BORING

How more do you want me to play till i die of boredoom

never in my life was i so bored playing an mmo game , everything is pointless in this game and they dont even bother to create an importance or illusion

I never played worcraft , tried it and it was not my cup of tea , but i can tell you this mach wow was not boring ,

and dnd as much as it has its problems rules above lotre, at least  in dnd every quest put you in center of it , and creates an illusion  that what you do affect whole dungeon you are in and your party, and monstars you killed do stay dead for your satisfuction

and EQ2 not need even to say it , far much advance in whole interface that lotre looks like simple design for retards

Eve , L2 well they are all better then this

I'm not "in this industry", so I'm not really sure what you are talking about. I came to the game with very low expectations and it was only the timing of the release that led me to try it. I'm pretty hard on the MMOs I try, no lack of objectivity here.

I found the Old Forest and the Barrow Downs to be very challanging. Any fights against mobs even conned or a level or two higher are very challanging. If you played it completely safe the entire game, how can you then complain it's not challanging?

Last night I did a very interesting quest where reports of a Black Rider haunting a local farm ended up being something very different. Interesting mystery, even included the help of a local dog in following up on one of the leads. There are plenty of other well written and interesting quests, but since you claim there are none, I can say you are wrong.

Not every game is going to be for everyone, but at least be honest if you are going to trash a game you've decided not to like.

It's not DDO, thank goodness. If that's your gold standard you've found a small niche that defines your interest and a game to match it. Good for you. (Oh, and the monsters in DDO stay dead, until the next time you need to repeat the same quest anyway, because it's a game with completely instanced content. You are suggesting that for  an open world MMO? Sounds like you are just mad because you couldn't kill things fast enough to avoid respawns raining on your parade. Hasn't been a problem with me). :)

I've found that the game lacks too little content and replayability (with no PvP and all, that's understandable). Solid game that I'm sure will appeal to a certain audience but it's just not my type of game. I found it to get boring and old very quickly.

So are the escort quests you'll run into before level 15.  There are indeed dungeons, with a boss at the end; the spider cave is accessible at very low levels.
there are no quests wirh dungeons , houses ,caves or whatever , in which you walk in, to solve puzles , kill minions/monsters, find the boss , get treasure, etc , those elements make a quest feel like a quest , yet  in lotre you walk in a spider cave ,, no matter how many you kill they keep respawning in front of your eyes , no puzles or traps .... and rarely boss at the end,

In factthere was not a single exciting questWell, if it didn't float your boat, fine, but the epics and the quests that take place in the Old Wood and the Barrow Downs certainly kept me awake.

Eco System is not complete ,
no sea -life , pond life , no  water -animals like turtles or fish , you can not  dive in water nor get drawned , neither lotre has got  any proper  flying animals Fish that look very like trout or salmon are first seen in the marsh in The Shire (at least by me.)  Turtles are up at the NE boundary of Breeland.  Crebain, Bats of various sorts, other birds, gnats, blackflies all fly.  Sometimes in the distance you'll see a large flock in the sky.  The slugs and toads are pond life.
WELL GAME IS BEAUTIFULL  LOOKING AND BORING as i said you kill to level and thats it  except if you prefer to spend some time crafting , and crafting is  ok , From the way xp is apportioned, you kill for money, (at least til economy balancing is finished) and quest for xp. If you try to kill for xp, it's pretty grindy due to low xp.
middle earth was getting ready for the war just think of all little plots orcs could be envolved in,  in order to create an adventure, for players, answering the call of dark lord and getting into groups, going deep into caves  plotting , crafting weapons , kidnaping , stealing foods from farms etc , doing the deeds for sauron /saruman .... so many quests could take us there into nest of some exciting adventure ,,,, but in this game there are none all orcs/ monsters  just stand and walk mindlessly , purposlesly ,,,,,, respawning randomly in marshes ,,

I'd guess that most MMO's start to show their full potential at perhaps level 20.  Classes start to get the really differentiating skills about then.  You can explore usually quite a bit without too much risk.  You did miss quite a bit... however, it's your call.
