I have played UO, WOW, SWG COH, COV,.... D&DO, and a few others. LOTRO isn't something new by far but other then the fact you cannot pvp in it. It seems have made me love it. It feels like WOW but you don't have to deal with all that kiddie crap that WOW has. The world looks great and makes you feel like your in the game. You can solo or group play and that is nice. I hate the fact alot of mmorpg are trying to make everything group play. I am a solo guy and have also like it that way.
So for ppl that are wondering if LOTRO is for them I say please try it I was very suppised that I enjoy it, I think it has alot to do with the fact that land looks good and as a child I found the book the hobbit a nice noval.

well i said in my previous post, its the best looking game out there , it looks completly handcrafted and handpainted stuning and beautifull , when you walk trough the forest , you cant see two the same trees , while in vanguard ,, every tree is the same generic and with the same texture ....
but still i find game play slow and not that exciting ,, will still play who knows maybe some update in the future are going to turn this into a great game...
like EQ2 , it was such avarage game with loads og bugs and now after 2 years its one of the most polished games out there with the best interface then any other game
who me ?
He probably talks about the closed beta, there was no level cap in it. I can see also his point when he says that all the classes are same - I played as a human captain and as an elf loremaster, both can heal and both have magic, both are similar to play (especially if you are a noob like me ) However, there are differences, which give the classes their appeal, especially when you are higher level.
I liked the game too, I think it is cute and worth playing. The graphics is beautiful and the quests are nice (especially the side quests )
I am glad people are finding enjoyment in the game , I know I am
who me ?
But its true, the game is not for everyone, recommend anyone the least bit interested give it a good try between now and the 24th... (hey, its free..can't lose anything)

After giving 5 years of Sub fees to SOE for EQ1 and SWG and then after my banning the past 26 months to Blizzard for WoW and A little Eve and some free play on Guild Wars , I like LOTRO.
This may be my new MMO home. SoE , if you on Nimrod-el seek out a Hobbit named Rodo. I may only be derailed by Star Trek Online or if Star Wars goes to a different Company other then SOE. The DC universe is SOE only hope on obtaining Smedley's dream of opening an MMO with more then 1 million players ( Its going to have to been one hell of a marketing plan to do so).

I was in closed beta and got to level 32 so he is not BSing you. The classes have similarities but not all the same. You have to remember Turbine tried to stick to the books (which they do pretty well) so you will not see a bunch of wildly different classes and races (EQ2) I am defending project8six's opinions about LOTRO. However, I have come to a different conclusion I am not bored and love the game. Careful Mars505 if you are going to try to expose someone making misleading statements, which you post seems to be trying to do, you better do your homework.
Both things are not the case in LotR-O so please, what the heck is boring?
