Windows Vista?

Any news from any gamers out there if this game runs with Vista or has any problems?

I loaded up Vista during beta 2. I had a chat channel problem for a bit. don't recall how it was fixed but I am  sure if you search the forums you will find it. Also, it may have been fixed in a patch. Other then that it has run perfectly.

Running Vista Ultimate x32 and it runs smooth. I had x64 Vista Ultimate for a time installed and it ran fine on there as well. Had to go back to x32 version cause Gametap did not run on x64, but that is another story.

I know the retail release will have the Games for Windows certification on it meaning it is Vista ready.  As an aside Turbine is planning on updating the engine to DX10 sometime in the fall.

Windows Vista isn't the nightmare everyone thinks it is.  I use WIndows Vista Ultimate, no problems running anything from WinXP.  The compatibility  wizard works like a charm :).  Aside from missing driver support for some older hardware and some newer graphics cards Windows Vista is nice.  The driver problems should be fixed soon anyways.

Glad to see this game works on Vista.

I have to get a new computer soon and none that I see have Windows XP on them.

I think some people who are running Vista and are using the 8800 cards are having issues with crashing to the desktop.  Something to do with a massive memory leak.

I didn't realize it was related to the card, but I do crash to desktop after a couple of hours playing. I'm on Vista Home Premium and using an 8800GTX.  I'm sort of glad to know it's a widespread issue instead of just something with my system; widespread issues get patched. ;)

I have it running on Vista Ultimate as well. However I still play it in Windows XP because my sound card manufacturer hasn't bothered to update my drivers for vista yet. :(

Here are some links concerning the status of Vista and LOTRO:

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=35202

    http://forums.lotro.com/showthread.php?t=42183

On the second link, look for post #2. It's from one of the Dev's and he talks about the issue with Vista and 8800.

If you run Vista and get a problem with the ingame chatchannels not displaying txt go to your documentfolder located on your desktop.

Go into the lotro directory, open userpreferences.ini and change UserSpecifiedPort=0 to UserSpecifiedPort=9000

    That should fix the chatproblem.

I've had no problems before this european early access version. It crashes really often if you don't keep your textures on medium or lower.
