going back, need YOUR input and maybe a friendly voice, no beggin

ok, im going back, to the real MMO's that us older fans can play.

tired of the kids and bore of WoW for awhile now, havent played in months.

GW, i still play off and on, mission based makes it more of a console game for me, but it rocks.

SWG-never again.

EQ2.... eh, not doing it.

so im going old school, and want to hear directly from the community of the players. DAOC or the original EQ.

im dying to get into a deeper game, with varied builds and classes. so these two take the cake.

where should i go? communtiy and abilty to jump in are key factors 1 and 2. i know they have depth and great quests.

so... lets hear it. sway me, i beg. im so done with the new games, they are hollow shells of a lost passion. filled with bratty teens and selfish guilds. they cut and pasted basic features and bumped up the graphics.

DAOC or EQ1. do it.

I would personally go for Everquest 1. I found Daoc to be very empty, its community isn't that big anymore.

Another option would be to wait a few months and then buy Vanguard. the old Everquest ideal is there, the game was just released too early under the pressure of Sony Pictures.

Been there done that my friend. Seems to me you are looking back through those rose tinted glasses, sure, EQ and DAOC are fine games but the newer games tend to add rather than take away (there are exceptions of course). Perhaps, as a mature gamer like me, its just simply time to move on, put aside these fantasy games until it all seems fresh again

Hmmn. reluctantly I'll have to side with EQ1. I say reluctantly mainly because it's going to be near impossible to catch up in EQ1 as opposed to DAOC.

Whatever you're choice, both are true classics and you can't go wrong either way..

Speaking of Everquest, I believe SOE is planning to release an all in one package special edition soon to celebrate its aniversary. consider picking that up.

EverQuest, though it isn't the same game it used to be years back.

i  have them both on my comp already. come to think about it,.i think i have all the MMO's on my comp..... just so tired of logging into EQ2 and being like "i cant do any quests, i did all i can solo"" then spending 120 minutes looking for a group.

are there any guilds alive and moving in either?

as far as WARHammer,..... i dunno, seems limited. lotro as well. on DAOC, my sylvan animist, felt unique. on EQ2 my warden felt like a mage. i never really got into playing eq1, simply due to life. not a lack of interest. i have my station ID anyway, and i also still have a DAOC acc active. well, if anyone out there plays em with a decent society, lemee know. i am very social in a social guild. but the gestapo guilds need not apply.

I think amny here will agree that EvE online is one you might light not amny kids in it and it is very hard especially for beginners and it can be soloed.
