Hello everyone,

I have been playing Final Fantasy XI for about 2 years now, I got my Summoner to 75 and kinda grown tired of the game so I'm looking for somthing new to play, Not really sure what games are out there I'd prefer somthing I can download(I don't mind Pay2Play either) Heres a list of things I like below to help!

Many thanks! Just hope somone knows a decent game I could download to play.

Like:

Magic & Mages: - I always use Mage in game either Healer or Nuker I just wanna be a Mage hehe.

Costumes: - I don't wanna be stuck in same costume all way through game!

Partys: I like been able to go out in Groups and fight along side people aswell as fight alone.

Graphics: Somthing that looks good doesn't have to be amazeing aslong as it's decent

Weapons: Same as Costumes I wanna be able to have diffrent lookin Staffs etc

Quests: Yes I love the Quests hehe

Leveling: I want somthing thats OK for lvling I played Lineage II and it took FOREVER!

Skills: I wanna be able to use many kinds of magic, Some games have like 6 spells Max >.<

Guilds: Yes I wanna be able to be in a Guild!

Events: Love Events!

i'd have to say WoW or EQ2.

there's pros and cons to each of them but they both pretty much have what you're looking for.

Based on what you like, I would suggest Everquest 2. It's a good game, for those who like grinding and lots of quests. I filled my quest log very quickly, it holds 75 quests, just to give you an idea...

EQ2 has, imo, the best community out there, after FFXI. Yeah, I'm playing FFXI too, and have done so for a good while now. The main reason for why I quit EQ2, is that it felt like most stuff were just repeatitions of what I just had done. But for ginders and quest lovers, it's a paradise. EQ2 also have LOTS of choices for what kind of character you wanna play.

If you really like trying different outfits, not restricted to armour and lvls, give City of Heroes a try. It's a very grindy game too, but it seems fun. It's also quite different from most MMORPGs out there. I started playing it only a couple of days ago, though, so I can't say how it will develop.

CoH And CoV Are basicly go inside an instance, beat the living crap out of everything, move out, repeat.

I would also recommend EQ2. there is a trial, give it a go.

Depends on your pc. I have a very new pc, AMD X2 5600+, 4 GB RAM, etc, and this babe has no problems with running the game with maximum settings. And the improvement from my old pc (Intel 2800, 1 GB RAM), is outstanding.

EQ2 has fantastic graphics, but you need a good rig to really enjoy all the details.

  • Michiru552Michiru552 Member Posts: 34

Just had a look at some EQ2 Vids on youtube.com and it looks abit... Behind in Graphics >.<

Scions Of Fate looks decentish very anime like hehe.

Shame about EQ2 it sounded the perfect game.

NOO!!! Don't waste your time with Scions of Fate. Lame grindfest. Played it myself. It's terrible. ( my opinion of course ) Read the review and the comments.

i no a few other ppl have said this but i would try coh/cov great games and can last you months w/o getting board as long as u are grouping w/ ppl and making friends then the fun never dies down. The quests are very fun and the concept and costume disgn are great as well. i sugjest playing it i wouldnt recommend going back to WOW at this stage its just a waste of time

    Games played:

    WOW: 70 mage,60 mage, 61 shammy, 65 warrior

COX: lvl 35 scrapper lvl 20 MM

    Guildwars: 20 w/m

LOTRO BETA: lvl 32 Dwarf guardian/ 15 hunter

    Currently playing: Battlefield 2142

    Waiting on WAR/AOC

    Pass on GW .

Id go Wow , EQ2 could be a winner for you , but i think its boring.

Maybe daoc... but pops really hurtign so i would almost say stay away.

Try some trails, daoc trial, try and evem trail eq2 trail. cov or coh trails (this is a fun game).

Try Lord of the Rings Online.

It's alot like WoW, but it isn't WoW.

Alot of people have had different reactions and opinions on the game, alot which have not played it enough to judge it.

It may seem like a clone of WoW, but it's just another WoW type game, different setting, different classes, more crafting options, engaging PvP, alot of roleplaying emotes, less focus on raids.

My biggest recommendation would be to wait for the near future mmos such as WAR, AoC and Aion.

    Currently Playing: Everything but MMORPGs
Cancelled: L2, FFXI, VSoH, LotRO, WAR, WoW
    Looking Forward To: SW:TOR

Well, i have to say you have a great taste in gaming.. how good is your computer? And it depends if you want to have a game RIGHT now because if your the patient type... You can always wait until age of conan comes out in october  Other than that, yes i would definetely absolutely recommend CoV/CoH because the custimization there is INSANE! I played cov and coh but i had recently deactivated my account (yes i know, i am the stupidest person ever) But now i want to reactivate it because of the new inventions system coming soon. So yeah, coh and cov are addicting. Edit: and i think cov and coh take some time, if you get bored of it, leave it alone for like a week or so, and get back on and it's like it's brand new! How addicting is that! The only problem i had is i made too many alts and no enough mains.

Shame about EQ 2 >.< Graphics look so poor

  • JarloJarlo Member Posts: 221
I'm not sure what you are looking at to judge EQ2 as poor graphics, but if you have the machine to run it at max settings it is one of the best looking games on the market.  Just d/l the FREE trial and see what it looks like on your system instead of looking at some static screenies.

I have a Dell Dimension 5150 I got it when they had the double up day(all the specs are doubled)

it plays FFXI like a dream I dunno if that counts for anything >.<

LOL yea from that initial list I would have to say that Guild Wars is probably perfect for you... Nightfal since that is the most populated and perfect place to start for a newbie so you can get heroes...

Don't have tow orry about system requirements it looks great even on mu old Dell 1505 and didn't even have to turn the graphics sliders down.

Already done GW... Lv 20 cap pissed me off too much too!

I like games that last while lol

  • AriolanderAriolander Member UncommonPosts: 97
0.o;; If you play Nightfall you will reach the lvl cap before your even 1/4th through the PvE campaign or even have any half usefull skills so lvl 20 mark doesn't really mean much in a game like GW. Well if GW isn't your thing CoV & CoH are fun if you like the superhero setting. I know I do but I doubt that will work for you since you like the magic thing... Would recommend LOTR coming out soon but in the Tolken universe magic doesn't work like they would in others...

CoV/CoH are boring to me.  Seems everything is repeated in the game.  Plus all people do is have stupid costume contest in those games.
