Freedom Force is a great game, and if you can't play CoH, then I highly reccomend it. There are ALOT of websites out there with custom heroes, and it's awesome to play the game with your favorite Marvel and DC heroes rather than the default characters.

It does have online play, but it's been a while since I played it and I don't remember if it was LAN only.

Bottom line: very fun game. Highly reccomended. Hope I helped. image

It has both LAN and internet public play (through Gamespy, I think)

FF is a terrific game! A worthy alternative.

I will add that Marvel Entertainment has gotten pretty tight on unlicensed use of its characters' images. At least one site that offered player-made Marvel hero skins for FF has stopped doing so at Marvel's request. Five years ago it probably wouldn't have been an issue, but with Marvel pumping out so many high-profile character films, I think they've cracked down.

The characters included in the story are knockoffs of Marvel characters already though. Ant is a Spider-Man clone, Man-Bot is an Iron Man type, Minute Man = Captain America, Bullet is your typical speedster...you get the idea.

    By all means get it.

FF is great!  They're even making a sequel, Freedom Force Vs. The Third Reich.

Until you cancel your subscription, you are only helping to continue the cycle of mediocrity.

Freedom Force is a fantastic game, and i recommend aswell. Still, I believe it had nothing on CoH. My suggestion would be to give up one of the other games, and start playing CoH.

BTW, I love the dancing Gir avatar ::::28::
