NCSoft Newsletter says This Fall

Did anyone else get the NCSoft newsletter saying the release date was going to be this fall?

These folks better start speeding up development big-time if they want to hit that date.

    What do you mean speed up development?  The  game has been complete for several months now, they are just working to fix bugs, or am I wrong?

    The staff has said that the closed public beta is to start soon (friends and family beta in action since December) so the game is probably nearing completion anyways. A few aspects like PvP and crafting haven't been detailed to the public but many of the major game aspects seem to already be there.

    Well we already know that the game is scheduled for End of September release.

    So that means probably four months of closed beta and a month of open beta.

    i hadnt been paying attention to this game very much but wow...... im actually looking foward to this more so than warhammer online!

    In the GDC video posted, Richard Garroitt says there are already test servers and outlines the production timeline.

    Yea this fall sounds likely, games been in development for quite awhile.

    From what I understand is that it has been in friends and family beta for the last 3 or so months. Maybe I am wrong, but if they are this far along they could easily hit the release date unless they find some major game issue that causes major issues with game play.

    Sounds about right to me...and as we all should know 'Fall' can mean nearly any time before Christmas in mmmorpg-speak.

    This is one of the few games I allow myself a little leeway in terms of anxious anticipation. Really looking forward to some upcoming beta info such as new movies, screenshots, and player reviews.

    Hopefully that shouldn't be too far off. :)

    Yeah Id really like to see more of the hub and even some armor placement and how menus will look. But I guess they dont want to spoil everything. Also NPC interaction and town settings (tavern inside etc.) would be cool too. Whats chat going to look like etc.

    Im probably just over excited about this game, but Im also patient due to wanting a real quality game. I say take their time as long as its done right.

    A little off-topic, but I watched that video. Is it just me, or did anyone else expect him to be older? Maybe it's just the "Lord British" thing, but I expected a white-haired guy  with specs.

    Lord Garriott is actually one of the designers I grew up with.  I started playing Ultima back in Ultima 2 on the old atari computers.  So he isn't very old but he has been in computer game design for as long as anyone!
