I played this game in beta probably about a year ago and it was soooooo bad, even for a beta. I am thinking about checking it out again since it seems they have updated alot of the game. Plus, from what I read from the site, you only pay a one time fee of 25 british pounds which I think is about $40 US? I was just wondering if there are actually people out there that play this game? If I do play it again I am definately going as a free person! Have they actually implemented a character creation screen yet, or are they still having you create your character by choosing a number for your hairstyle, skin color, etc?

    I've heard that they were working on a trial world type of thing, waiting on that. I've really wanted to try this game, but there is so much wrong(from what i've read in the past) that i wouldnt even consider it.

    From what we have heard, no one is not being worked on and probably won't be out for a long time



    As for are ppl playing as barbs, yes, not sure how active though, need a barb to answer that



    The dollar to pound right now is not good, is about $49.50 for RV

    The population was quite good a week or so ago, might have decreased temporary now due to some recent events.

    Well I am glad to see that they have a visual character creation screen now! I don't see the dollar raising drastically anytime soon so I may suck it up and get the game. I mean who else is going to lead all the free people against Rome?

    Marku here; of the Tuatha De Biatach tribe, we are currently settled in Erring(Barbarian start point) so if you wish to join just look out for one of us on /who , we usually hang out at the east fort.(you spawn in the north fort)

    This is one of those games where its so bad that you darent call it a game. The maps still have database object names like "town_xlz_map.gz" and the graphics are worse than EQ1. The games own players warn how bad it is so hear their warning!

    Have you actually played the game? And try looking for the screenshots with the NEW graphic features, just some firendly advice.



    If there's anything bad about the game it's the lag. The graphic beats most mmos out there, even if the animations is still a bit lacking IMO.

    no, the worst thing is that they just banned all the most loyal customers they have on the barbarian side for no particular good reason, not all of them, but a lot of the active ones, I've been with RV since 2004, hardly put a foot wrong, and then got caught up in the exploiting, they ask us to PM, if we PM we get "leniency", all of the banned players sent a PM, and we got perma bnned, how' that for justice? I say leave these lying devs and their game alone..

    genericname1 did not behave and is no longer welcome in RV. It's always sad to lose a player, but some had it coming.

    Wow, the dev team finally acted ?

    I'm simply amazed.

    Griefers, spawn campers, exploiters  have been coddled and even encouraged by the dev team since the games launch.

    Did the devs finally manage to figure out, that having players of the same faction repeatedly kill and spawn camp new players of that faction was a BAD thing for the game ???

    Odd, since they seemed to go out of their way to say it was okay  in the past.

    Its funny that the one poster pointed them to wow, EvE would be more their style.In fact,Roma is actually the perfect game for the banned players design and dev wise.Which is partly why im so suprised they got in trouble enough to get banned.

    The design of the game is so griefer friendly and the devs were so griefer friendly, i really am incredibly suprised they took any action at all, let alone bans.

    I agree with you tkobo.  FINALLY we see RedBedlam taking charge and doing the right thing when it comes to griefers and exploiters.  The "genericname" guy was one of the worst along with his other cronnies.  I DO hope the door hits them on the ass on the way out!



    As for your other comment, I was the one that pointed them at WoW.  While "    The design of the game is so griefer friendly and the devs were so griefer friendly"  is at least debatable, the community isn't.  For what it's worth, this is a pretty mature community and these jerks just did not belong here.  I think my guild has the most amount of grandfathers and 40 year olds in the game!

    Sorry, i dont feel even remotely that way about the community from the time i spent with roma victor.Sure, there were a few decent people.

    BUT they were clearly outnumbered by the griefers and those that supported them.I remember a slew of posts way back in sept of last year, especially since some of them were mine, naming people who were spawn camping and exploiting.

    I remember how not only the devs pretty much kissed the offenders backsides, but how more than a few posters on the forums took the side of the offenders.

    I remember quite a lot of posters who "thought" the offenders were "just doing what the game allowed " them to do.

    So tell me, was Capito (or something close) and his 4 buddies ( Tuathal,caddoc,etc...)(names might not be spelled right, working mostly off memory here)part of the banned group ?
