I have a question

So WAR is going to focus mostly on PvP which is awsome ( just what I like ) and skill is said to be more of a factor than items. ( also what I like ) however what will be the rewards or accomplishments as you progress.

Like your character evolving. Nice idea I like it.  However thats the only PvP progression I have seen. Is there jsut going to be a huge rank system, your rank portraying your lvl of skill ?

I hate to compare games ( especialy b4 there even out ) however like in wow you have item rewards for PvP and now the arena which is said to change form season to season.

To sum it up - what are / will you gain with PvP.

item rewards, titles, new skills, new cosmetic options.

my question is why does everyone always say "like WoW"? no one ever says "like planetside" or "like DAoC" or "like SWG". i can understand that wow is really popular and lots of people only have that as a reference, but its starting to get silly now guys.

Neither is a clone of either.

One thing that was left out is that you can gain experience, and level up doing PvP.

They've stated several times that you can go through the entire game doing nothing but PvP, or nothing but PvE, or a mixture of both.

This means that you get items, gear, experience, money, etc. etc. from both PvP and PvE.

And not to mention that WoWs pvp probably is the less meaningful one since the internet.

As stated, you can advanced through the game doing nothing but RvR. From what I've read, most of the best gear will be from RvR kills/quests. There will be plenty of rewards since RvR is the games primary focus.

As for comparing it to WoW's PvP...   WoW's PvP was an afterthought made of spare particale board and duct tape that they stapled to the side of the core PvE game when people started getting bored and the PvP crowd started making noise. It's a totally seperate instanced game from the regular game and has zero noticable effect. RvR is all encompassing and changes the whole feel of the game you play. If you've never experienced large scale open field battles or sieges (see DAoC) then you don't know RvR. PvP is an understatement.

EDIT: Check the editorials on Only-War's website ( www.only-war.com under features tab) as well as the official site for info.

My very simple response is I have never played those games b4. My Bro got me into WoW when it came out and I havent changed since.

I have read up on a ton of stuff for WAR, so you dont need to explain how I can lvl through PvP. I think that has been gone over a lil to much. but ty. My questions still stands. ( which is my only question )

WHAT DO U GET FOR PvP / RvR... ( title - rank- items- priviliges - access to other places - What ! )

If it has not been stated or dicussed yet just say so.

You quoted his answer and basically put his list in your question. The list so far is something like:

Gold, XP, Trophies and cosmetic options

Item rewards - from PvP quests and as loot (players will supposedly have their own loot tables)

Reknown Points (maybe these will be something like DAoC's Realm Points, but not sure)

    Tactics (specialized skills basically)

Not sure what it is you're looking for. If it's a specific list of items or skills, it's still too early for that. Basically though, it's everything in the game. The whole game is based off of the RvR struggle and killing the enemy is an integral part of the system. Even the PvE parts are geared toward hindering the enemy realm or assisting your own realm in their fight against the enemy players.

If you want a feature list for RvR rewards, it's the same as the feature list for the game itself pretty much. As an example, here's a quote from MMOG Nation regarding RvR rewards:

“What rewards will RvR offer?” - According to Jeff, it’s not possible to split out RvR rewards from their compatriots on the PvE side. Everything you can get from fighting mobs is obtainable by killing other players. You can earn XP, level up, and even get loot. The items are looted off of dead players, but aren’t ‘from’ the dead players. Players will apparently have their own loot tables. This is completely awesome, and is something I’m eager to test out. I’ve had more than my fill of whomping rats, thanks. If I could have played Arathi Basin for quest xp, I would have been in that queue from logon to logoff.

LOL oops - sorry in my pissed off state that WoW put me in i decided to go read the WAR fourms and see if I had got a reply yet. In doing that I full missed that first part listing some of the options for rewards in PvP.

    My bad!

    Thanks for the info.
