Well actually today was only the Second stress test.......So I think they will fix that lag issue before the game launches to the public. They especially wanted people to log in today to see if we could crash the game servers. The following is info on this from the website:
Calling all beta testers... Stress Test #2 is on the horizon!
This Sunday, April 22, we'll hold our second official Stress Test to get a feel for the game's current capacity based on the latest game build. Data from this test, coupled with all of your feedback throughout the beta period, will help us to optimize the game, and allow us to deliver the best experience possible for the launch later this spring.
So... let's go ahead and push the game to its limits! Grab your pirate brethren (as long as they also have beta access) and join the adventure from noon until 3 pm (PDT) this Sunday. Remember, this is still beta and all the extra pirates might produce some extra problems - thanks for your support!
Look for more Stress Tests coming April 29 and May 9!
So I guess there are more scheduled so look forward for more laggy days lol. YAY US!
It's a great relief to know that I'm not the only one with lag...
Well, yes, I thought that there could be somthing wrong with my processor or maybe some extra spyware on my PC, but now I see that it's a common issue... So, don't worry, as bluedragon said, there'll be many improvements to fix the lag in the next releases.
By the way, do you think that the game will need less resources in its final version? Right now I've just a few Mb's of RAM above the minimum requeriments for the game... and it can be pretty difficult to have even a single explorer window opened when the game is running
According to the mail I received, these are the minimum requirements for the game:
PC running Windows XP 2 GHz or faster processor 1 GB RAM 128 MB video card
But as I've tested for myself on another PC, it may run even with 1.5 Ghz... however, it seems that the RAM it's the "critical" requirement to run this game, as I haven't been able to run it -properly- on PC's with less than 1Gb of RAM.
By the way, do you know what is the minimum connection speed required? I'm just curious about it...

I can't play the game on my Acer Aspire 3003LCi
but on the desktop I can

Well i will just give you people tips, goto run then type in dxdiag and click on display.
It should say what kind of graphics card you have.
Also i thought the game was made for older computers. Well i guess Disney does know how to say these things.
Also on the website www.piratesonline.com and if you click on the game and scroll down it says minimum requirements
32MB-64MB graphic card.
The laptop is well kind of old. And does not handle 3d games well at all.
And another problem on the laptop is that once you click the Create A Pirate button I get kicked out of the game in seconds.
Otherwise the is totally awesome, love the free to play mode it totally makes runescape look like a loser. Nothing personal flare618 and cleric2230.
