Guild Wars is great! =]

This game is fantastic! I just bought it, and I'm already hooked on it. I don't know why some people are like "Oh no.. oh OH NO! THIS GAME IS BOOORRRINNNGGG!" You're just too nerdy for your own good if you say that then.



I SERIOUSLY recommend you go out and pick up this game! It's only $30! GET OUT THERE AND START BUYIN!

    LightXZ i agree with you that Guild Wars is an awsome game, although some people prefer an open world rather than a closed one(or instance). Thats why people turn away from it and the fact that you can only level up to 20.

    I know right?! It's great! =] But only leveling up to level 20 means you have to actually use skill, not just bombard your enemy with useless shit.

    The problem for me is the 2D world.. I just can't stand all the artifical walls and the fact that it is basically diablo style graphics and play many years after i got tired of that type of play.

    The graphics and the click to move killed the game for me. The idea behind the game is good, even if it (in my opinion) was poorly made into a game.

    The game had WASD and Point and Click controls.... right from the very start.

    hm click to move ? well i guess you are confusing things for there is awsd / mouse control in gw. loving gw for its skill / gear system though im not into the actual guild wars.

    GW isn't click to move game.. it has wasd controls...

    I love GW but such threads are funny =P

    Bought it, tried it, made a beercoaster.

    It's a POS in my opinion.
    Now I don't start threads about how insanely shitty the game is,
    nor should you, shush.

    Played so far: 9Dragons, AO, AC, AC2, CoX, DAoC, DF, DnL, DR, DDO, Ent, EvE, EQ, EQ2, FoMK, FFO, Fury, GW, HG:L, HZ, L1, L2, M59, MU, NC1, NC2, PS, PT, R:O, RF:O, RYL, Ryzom, SL, SB, SW:G, TR, TCoS, MX:O, UO, VG, WAR, WoW...
    It all sucked.

    I've played almost every p2p game, and f2p I could find.  I'm a huge fan of MMO's.  Last month I quit WoW which I had been playing consistently for over 2 years and started playing Guild Wars.  So far I love the feel of the game, it really feels like so much less of a time sink, and although I find some things in the game to be very annoying, I am for the most part enjoying myself in the GW Universe.    I would at this point say that the environment and character models look superb, I think the spell animations look somewhat to plain, theres to many spells which look almost Identical to one another.  There is WASD movement, along w/ click to move.   With all that being said, imo GW has been a fun very refreshing game over the grind and totally non-story driven environments that almost all MMO's have, but to bash someone by calling them a nerd, or anything negative because they don't like the same games you do is quite uncalled for.  So to the OP while I agree that GW is a great game, telling people their nerds if they don't like it is completely uncalled for.  I think it's somewhat immature when the people on these forums, or other forums start telling others off because their opinions on games differ.

    Anyways, I hope you enjoy GW, and I hope the other posters enjoy their games as well.

    I think my sig says it all.  GW is based around skill rather than stats and it's very easy to get into the action, especially PvP.  Most MMOs have some weird, "You must invest 50 hours on each character before you can PvP" clause that makes them just... Eww.  I'm not asking for FFA PvP, but sport-like level field PvP, which is exactly what GW provides.

    How the hell are Gw's Graphics crap? I like Gw the fact that when I want to play it, I play it and when important stuff  comes along you can calmly stop playing unlike WoW where you need a butchers knife to chop of your left arm to get rid of  the hunger for more WoW and concentrate on the excruciating pain and possibly die of blood loss.

    We're all Geniuses. Most of us just don't know it.

    The first GW was one of the best online games I have played. I had 4 level 20 characters, most of the elites, solo'ed most areas and so on. I then bought the last GW release (Nightfall) and quit playing after a week because PUG play was nerfed. I haven't wasted money that quickly in a long time. And it is not about PUG versus GUILD versus SOLO play because I think you can have all three in a game.
