It will release spring 2008 out of experience. If it's announced for Q4 2007 they are just aiming for christmas but like many many many other titles won't be able to hit the mark... So it will be Q1 or Q2 2008 ...
By that time everyone will be bored of other games, and convert to WAR! where the real war is lol Lord of the rings online got it release out fast, they did good on that.
Hopefulyl we can get a closed/open beta maybe in auguest! :-)
This game will only fit for a certain type of player. The "combat and pvp"-type. So it probably will get those subs anyways. I am actually not looking forward to a "who cares, its all about shattering stuff to pieces" MMO so the game's a no-go for me; It will surely be a major title, but it won't be "the mmog for everybody"... And I tell you, there are armies of players that actually enjoy PvE over PvP, people who love crafting or roleplaying, exploring or chatting. WAR will only appeal to a fraction of the players out there, and as much as it will surely be a blast for those gamers, it will not be able to compete to allrounder-MMOs of the WoW caliber...
yah,but meridion tell that story to EA executives.Im sure they will get it out during the time period when 75% of games are bought.Anything else would be a major screw-up and EA will have the commisars 24/7 at mythic.Im more woried not about the first patches, but by the fact that the main rvr zones and options are pretty constrictive. Also its such a clean war 2 sides, thats it.No real surprises or diplomacy. It may be playable for x-mas,but I forsee a needed major expansion within a year.Looks almost like a modular type build.
btw-when you pre-order do you get charged the full amount or a deposit.

...I take bets on this ^^

WoW prooved that a majority of PvE and some PvP doesn't work for PvP.
The whole problem is about stuff... the stuff you get in raids compared to the stuff you get in PvP. How to solve this problem? War will avoid the question and focus on PvP.
i'd say war can easily hit the million mark, but not much more.

Sure, if its done right. It just won't be the Holy-praise-the-Lord end of all searches for gamers, neither WAR nor AoC will. Just wanted to state this as so many people these days are like "Oh boy, you (fan of any successful mmo on the market) wait for WAR/AoC, they will claim the throne in no time"... It won't, it's way to specialized and excludes way to many player types...
