Help me choose my next Free MMORPG!!!

I've played a bunch of free mmorpgs, but need something different.

They're all the same grindfest, how about something with a decent quest system at least?

I've narrowd down to 4 now but have trouble making up my mind.  they're all kind of similar, but each game has some stronger points than others.  Corum has a dungeon owner and siege system where players and guilds can control dungeons, Flyff has a free flying feature, silkroad has pretty nice graphics(maybe same as all others..), SoF got pretty bad reviews, etc.  Which is most important?

How about you guys help me choose?

1.  Corum Online

2.  Scions of Fate

3.  Flyff

4.  Silkroad

thanks

Ok, here is my personal opinion.

    Corum Online is decent

    Scions of Fate is crap.

Flyff is decent, better than Corum.

Silk Road lags too much and is too crowded to be playable (last I looked anyway, what fun is a game if you can't log on?)

I would say, try Flyff and if you don't like it try Corum.

None of those offer a good questing experience, you will be grinding in all of those. I'm just giving my opinion, I never enjoyed free mmorpg's except for 9Dragons. did you try that one?

But out of those, I would go with Scions of fate, I found it to be a decent game.

My back seat poster says you haven't played enough WoW yet to reduce yourself to those horriable games.

I agree with the bad games part.(have heard about flyff having the best community out of free games)

I find it amazing that by 2020 first world countries will be competing to get immigrants.

If you ever want to get away from the fantasy Genre, I would suggest giving Voyage Century a try, decent Pirate game IMHO.

    Try giving Planescape a try..

Still in development, but downloadable, the quest system there should surely provide some challenges.. ;)

With that i mean that u actually need to "talk/chat" to the npc´s to get them to reveal quests and  provide jobs and so on, pretty cool so far,

graphics are 3d and they seem to be quite ambitous, character creation is also somewhat different in that you choose you past and class,

and that help define your stats also..check it out ;)

Gameloading, thanx for the hint - downloading 9Dragons while I write this

    About Silkroad:

I downloaded this game a couple of weeks ago, and installed it. I was not able to access it, cause the servers were full. Tried several times, with no success, so that was a wasted download.

9Dragons is a great "Free to Play" MMO option!  Ofcourse that answer will change once Acclaim opens up the open-beta for 2Moons but for now the unique kung-fu fighting systems helps to seperate it from the hum-drum fantasy theme grind games currently out there.

If your looking for a good free to play game thats outta the fantasy genre i would go along with Gameloading and get 9dragons as it will keep ya entertained for awhile but if you did want to play the fantasy games then i would say go with flyff as its an alrite game and silkroad i only ever managed to get actually into the game ONCE and i couldnt do anything coz of the mass lag on the servers which sucks! so yeah have fun with 9dragons or Flyff and wait for newer mmorpgs to come up.

Haha is that a fun game friend? It wont ever let me get on the server so I gave up it always said server failed.

  • etlaretlar Member UncommonPosts: 863
yeah, it always had some serious issues about their servers, and a bit more too to be honest, but

they do have an abitous plan, and the current gameplay seems to support it.( crap  sound like a fanboy..)

in regards to to the server issue,  some ppl wil need to DL the patch file by file, dunno why, i  dowlloaded it without an probs, but

after that they are occuring frequently, and as mentioned they are in testing, but looks promising, because they claim it wil be

    free forever

9Dragons totally sucks, even for a free mmo -- dont bother with it , its got next to no content at all and its a big boring grind compared to most f2p mmo's aswell.

There are quite a few free to play games out there. And if I were you, I wouldn't go by reviews. They don't mean a darn thing. All of those games have thier points. I've played them all. I really started to enjoy silkroad for some time but now I'm playing a game that you pay for. And if you need other free to play games, I can list off some.

Have u tried out The Endless Forest?

    THIS IS NOT A JOKE

Are you ever imagined what deer would think? Now you have a chance experience it! You can run like deer, you can jump like deer, you can do all thinks what deer would.  And one more think This game rocks! =D

    www.tale-of-tales.com/TheEndlessForest/

Few thinks what you cannot do:

    * you can't see player names

    * there is no chat window

    * you can't harm other deers =(
  • I recommend flyff. It isn't that bad after the first 15 levels, and if you have friends to play with you the first 15 levels aren't that bad anyway. Scoins of Fate isn't too good and Silk Road has server issues. I never tried Corum, so I cant say anything about that one.
