How will this system run VG?

I bit the bullet and dumped more money into my computer to run VG. Here are the specs:

AMD Athlon 64-Bit Dual-Core 5200+ Processor

2 GBs of RAM

GeForce 7950 GT OC w/ DDR 3 and 512 MBs

How will this run VG? Thank you.

Crisp , Like most other PC games you'll now be able to play it well.

I have a very similar system but mine is slightly superior with a GeForce 8800, and performance on BALANCED settings was not optimal; if I played on highest or above, performance deteriorated.

You should be able to run the game fine at balanced settings for a good 30-50 fps...perhaps even the high quality graphic settings for a good 20-30 fps...tweak your rig a bit for VG and you may even do better than that.

That's cause you're a fool! (moderators, don't ban me again for being sarcastic, obviously he is not a fool, and the sarcasm of the whole post will prove that ...), don't you know, the 8800 is not supported, which fits in just great with Brad's Vision TM : we created the graphics for computers of the future. They probably thought 8800 was not powerful enough, so they skipped through that series, and designed the whole game to the 9xxx series.

Makes me laugh every time they claim they created the game for high end systems, and they don't have support for the best gfx card out there. Who calls Sigil professional?

Yup, forgot to mention, tweak your game real nice, cause Sigil was spending money on advertising rather than optimizing.

I am a fool, as I bought the system to play Vanguard at max settings with (naive) high expectations.

OH, well.  I am confident this will never happen to me again. LOL.

Ok, first of all. VG has a serious problem coding and enginewise. You need a NASA room-scale rig to play it fluent on maxed settings. And on a second though: the game doesn't get any better because it lags less ^^

2 responses stating to "tweak" your system....not sure everyone will know what that means.

Elaborate a bit for them maybe?

I'll elaborate. Tweaking means editing the .ini file to quickly change some settings which Sigil couldn't put in the Options menu due to limited, five-years long development time.

Don't forget the incredibly spartan $30 million plus budget. I don't know how they managed under those conditions...

    agreed.

Dont molest your config files because Sigil wasn't able to do it themselves in the coding.  If you do,  you'll regret it.

Don't worry, you're not the only one who poured money into their computers to upgrade for the purpose of playing this game. I did too and as far as for the game it was all for nothing as I didn't even last the free month, I left.

But it's all good.  Now at least you have a better computer and you don't have to worry about playing other upcoming games which require a bit more then the casual usual game.

I remember in-game people telling me to do things such as that "tweaking" my system.

    No.

If I bought the best video card on the market (at least at the time immediately prior to buying Vanguard) and when it does not perform well, it is not my problem but SIGIL's.  I quit the game.

You would have honestly thought that Brad would have understood from WoW to Everquest that people do not really care about graphics.  In VANGUARD performance is bad in addition to looking ugly and generic.  It is a real double-whammy.

Dude, you can have "Skynet" as your computer and this game would still run like crap it's so buggy.  It's a piece of crap.  Try LOTRO or wait for Conan Or WAR.

since I can run the game on maxed out settings with a slightly lesser processor and a 7900 graphic card, you should have no problems. With acceptable framerate yes!

Also how quick your hardrive is will affect a bit, but i assume you got a quick one.

I wouldn't consider that "tweaking" but I would call it 'hacking" your own PC naught....I know my response is a bit late but hey now I know my definition of "tweaking" is not that same as others
