what im also wondering...since this is a paid subscription service.

Once they start getting our money. Will ea actually run the game (fixing bugs, support ect ect). Or will they pull a sony. Promise fixxes repeatedly but rarely ever do anything.

as much as people dislike EA i am dead sure they wont pull a Sony.  sony being the WORST excuse for a gaming company i have ever seen

    MMO wish list:

    -Changeable worlds
    -Solid non level based game
-Sharks with lasers attached to their heads

Personaly, I decided to take a 'wait and see' approach once EA became involved. They don't seem to have impacted development at all so far. If anything they may have speed it up. I think if you look at EA Mythic's work, it'll speak for itself that there's nothing to worry about.

Unfortunately, the gaming industy is full of publishers who are anything but smart.   But the merger occured months ago and we haven't seen anything drastic happen.
We just need to keep watching and see.

Aaron Cohen is now PART of EA mythic that is their MMorpg division.

Yes, he has done most of the work, but it is no secret that Mythic gave an had, they assigned a new team to work on UO together with the old...

You think is a coincidence that EA acquires Mythic and hey! let's re-make UO? I think not.

EA wants to make money and they know mythic knows how to make MMO's so they will let mythic make the MMO them and GW wants to make

You think GW is gonna pull the license of a working 100K subrscibers game just because EA wants to change couple things (without impacting lore) to boost those 100K to 500K?

To pull a license in development is one thing, pulling it while the game is released is a totally different thing, you would be screwing over hundred thousands of people, CUSTOMERS, and your name would surely suffer.

Yeah, some would understand that the game was taking a turn for the worse but how many? I can bet it would be a minority and EA would make sure they are not heard.

Im not a big EA fan whatsoever, for not patching CnC ZH anymore, not fixing any Bugs in BF2, and mainly almost every single EA game does not support native widescreen. DaoC supports widescreen but is vert - which means you gain minimal on sides and lose top to bottom
