E3 for everyone wasn't a very good experience... It was fun.. but my comp would crash and i'd have to start at the begining of that zone again.....and being 15 from start didn't show ya how leveling was going to be really, plus, I dont get the feeling its a mmorpg.. if I cant see anyone unless I hit a town, and can onl;y see group of a few people if I go on a mission with them.
This was indeed one of the best games I've played. Although it's not truly a mmorpg because of the no monthly fee, it's still got the best of the best gameplay. I'm looking foward to beta testing and buying this game.
Its an alpha game though with maybe less then 1/10 of its true content.Anyway when it does hit full retail, the guild+more pvp choice+more missions+maybe high players per room+Increase of items and skill, there will tons more stuff to do then in this alpha .
Bet everyone will still be grinding for crafting items
Give it a chance when it hits open beta. Then it will at least have 50% of content in it
Sometime i actually think tat opening the alpha to let ppl play draws more critics then the praises for going beyond the norm.Ppl just take everything at face value forgetting the "alpha tag". With about 6 months before expected date, too early to comment actually. Maybe it wasnt a wise choice to open alpha after all
well the game rocks after i played it for the 4 days it was up i canceled my SWG and ao accounts... the only problem with this game is that it will be released in like 9+ months... and by then WOw eq2 or something else will have came along to steal me.

Actually, a release by or before this year's holiday season is more likely, unless it gets severely delayed for some reason. (not out of the question, but so far everything is on track)
The game is too repetitive and lacked content ??? Man I amazed at the comments I consistently see posted in this forum. What would you have Anet do unleash the whole game on you? That was the best running alpha anyone has ever seen period. I been gaming for years and a tester as long and I have never in 12 years seen an alpha state game look and play so damn good.
We have been testing that area for 2 months + now. It was almost nothing but code in the beginning and you got to see what it was like at E3. Anet in no way even had to do this E3 for everyone to begin with. There were many people us alpha testers wished we could ban period. Obnoxious names, foul chat consistently it amazes me how many children think it's so cool to act like a complete ass. To boot many of those so called children were most likely adults to still weening off momma if you know what I mean.
Those 5 missions and Khylo were all fairly new to us Alpha's as well but they most recently dropped in mission 5, jungle preview and stone summit a week before the E3 for everyone. There is a whole huge area of playability you have never seen getting up to level 15 area that you have played. I am unsure why I even waste my time anymore posting in the GW area here. For the record as well I am far from a fanboy I am very vocal on the tester forums and speak my peace but no one can deny that what was seen and played for an alpha state of a game ( ALPHA means PRE BETA BEFORE! ) was simply amazing.
It's understandable there are games that are not for certain people but if you judge the entire game on a 3 day pass you were so kindly allowed to use on a alpha state game to boot, you might as well just quit gaming all together. You folks have seen not even 5 % of what the game is all about and this isn't for everyone here but for the whiners and complainers that make ignorant statements about how repetitive the game is.
By the way mister pro gamer list any game in the last 10 years from Meridian on up to DAOC and tell me what hasn't been repetitive. Every single game I have ever played gets old and repetitive welcome to the gaming world especially the MMO market were it's usually all about level grinds, farming or crafting. At least GW is about skill base a nice change for once.

Dang, sonicbrew, you rock!
And don't anyone think he's a "suck up" when he writes his thoughts. As he said himself, he's outspoken about problems and clear with criticisms, but he's also extremely fair and reasonable and... well... he really gets what we are doing, and what we did.
I need to comment on one point: There will be far more in the way of "crowd control" and chat options in later builds. We are well aware of the pottymouths and the nastynames, and we don't intend to allow them to ruin the game experience for others.
I won't argue with those who feel Guild Wars isn't for them. Everyone has a perfect right to an opinion, and certainly any game, even the best, will have those who don't really care for it. We're really glad that many people did enjoy the demo, and do seem interested in joining us come release. We'll see ya then -- if not before!

Thanks Seriphos. That's the only reason in my view that Guild Wars is not a real mmorpg game. It has the same gamplay etc. as a mmorpg but it's just monthly fee.
However, since they will be releasing 1 or 2 expansions a year, I would assume that one expansion cost....$30. This game could make us for it's online fees by releasing many expansions per year. But still, this game will attract more than just people who are used to playing mmorpg. Many people don't play mmorpgs because of the monthly fee. That's why this game will come out on top.
My opinion is that I think it is a very cool game that has potential. Also, I think that it will fix all the mistakes that all these other MMORPGs have.
Sonicbrew, you did GW nicely, it was a great preview of what they are making. what other game would let players see a game that is in alpha and get a feel for it, NONE. Guild Wars will be a game most players will pay if they continue to proceed with what they showed us in the E3 demo. what they did is a way to get a fan base and get good feedback on there game. i agree we didnt get to see the lvl grind, but any game will have a lvl grind so i dont see that as a concern. took a while to figure out how to salvage items and get better weapons, and how to sell gems, but the experince was worth the figuring it out. im looking forward to its release and /or beta if i can get in, smiles.
It tends to bother me when people say that GW is repetative, particulary when they compare it to another MMORPGs. The fundamental flaw in MMORPG (gameplay) architecture means that nearly all MMORPG games are repetative level crawls.
In GW, every time I went through a mission it was done differently. Take particular note of Stormcaller, which had an excellent design.

Its not quite as entangling as an mmorpg just like diablo was but its still damn good

Why do people play game to cheat?
