Even though I have been playing since Closed Beta this is still an exciting day for me.  Feels like Christmas.  Checking the UPS websites says my SE in Out for Delivery.  Woo Hoo!

I plotted out my day, including the time of my doctors appointment, so I could be home by noon or one in order to get a jump on playing today.  I, too, was in the closed beta and was more excited for this than any recent game release.

Well Jeff your wrong there.... I was in closed beta right up to release date and I left... it just grew too repetitive... something intangible missing to hold my interest for the long term that I couldn't justify the subscription...it certainly was fun for the short term however.

DEFINITION OF REALITY: Graphics ok, Sound ok, Gold drops need more work...

Have to agree with this. LOTRonline is engrossing for a week but much like that awful grind fest WoW you simply repeat the same quest over and over again. I think most online games are guilty of this cheap game mechanic - go kill 10 pink elephants. Come back, get reward and kill 10 more...yawn. Due to the limitations of the current game engines available the only comprimise would be enforced team work. However, like WoW, LOTRonline would loose some of its charm if solo play was not available. I wanted to like this game but for every good thing about it there is one bad thing - usually taken from the WoW game mechanics which I personally find trivial and simplistic.
