Missing the Meat

I dont see what why there is so much hype about this game. Yes, I believe it is a fantastic game! The crafting and combat system are a lot of fun and overall this game is great. Even though this game is great I believe I am going to hold off and not buy it yet. I am going to see what the higher levels are like and how the game changes. Also I am very disappointed that there is not PvP, if they contributed PvP into the game somehow it would be a buy! Should I hold off on the game or is it a buy?

I think PvP is a mixed bag. I hate it, so I prefer a game not have it.

The skills, etc up to level 50 are out. The game seems pretty reasonable, without any plateaus. I especially like that skills do more damage/heal more and cost more mana as you level, making you basic skills still relevant as you level.

Is this better than WoW? Basically, it will depend on what classes you prefer, and how you like PvP. But if you've maxed out at lvl 60 in Warcraft, or a Tolkien fan, I can definitely see the appeal of LOTRO.

If you are all about PvP. Pass on this game. It dosen't matter, level 15 or 50, there is no PvP in LOTRO as you probably know of it.

There have already been to many threads on "what, no PvP in LOTRO". Get over it and move on.

Well I follow up with " I Hate WoW!" and that is all I need to say about it....lol If they added some king of PvP it would appeal to a lot more mmorpg players. I really like that feature, as you level the skills cost more and do more dmg. It will make the higher levels even better. I would like to see them add some kind of arena to have pvp or even certain areas just to pvp. I love my PvE, but when I get bored and need to take a break I like to PvP to release the stress.

Maybe Lotr will be the game to change my aspect on PvP! I guess I will have to wait and see how the game turns out. So far it is looking great since the fantastic release, cheers to turbine!

  • I gotta say the PvMP is pretty fun. Though it restrained to one area kinda sucks, but none the less theres nothing like squashing players who spent countless hours putting into their monster characters.

You obviously know nothing of LOTRO. You should post in the DAOC, COH, GW or WOW forum. They all have the type PvP you are talking about. It is not in LOTRO, and the Devs have made it clear that it won't be.

    Move on.

Only explanation I found is that after Dark and Light disaster and Vanguard disappointment, everybody is too glad to welcome a bug free MMORPG.

Add to that the newcomers to MMORPGS without expectations attracted to the LOTR lore , and that's the reason why so many people is happy with the game.

I am happy with this game because I am having more fun in it than any MMO since the very first one I played.  Fun is of course entirely subjective so if it is not your thing I respect that, but understand that for a lot of us it is a great and very engaging game.
