not able to start the game...HELP plz.

in Lord of the Rings Online

when I start the game as double clicking the LOTR online shortcut. a small window pops up and examines the game and the window disappears. ( this is fairly usual to all MMO's) But the problem I got is that when the window goes away, nothing happens... meaning the game just wont stat. I've been staring at my desktop screen for few minutes, and nothing happens. I kept clicking on the game icon and nothing happens.

anyone having this problem?? I posted on the forum but they told me to check the tech support which I did and no luck.

    I had this problem too.  What I do is when I double click the icon I immediately move my cursor off the screen field of view.  I know that sounds crazy but it works for me every time, and it has worked for others as well.

    You may also want to press ctrl alt delete and check your processes tab and make sure it is out of there ( by it i mean LOTRO) if it is there... Thats the problem, it bug'd on you and didnt shut down completely so when you are reopening your computer is saying "Woot, its already open and attempts to maximize it which it cant do bcuz it doesnt exist... sp yeah check it out.

    You could also go to the main site and post on the technical forum. Or even contact customer support.

    have Internet Explorer open when you launch the game..worked for me.

    I normally dance around my chair chanting start up lotro, start up lotro in a monotone voice over and over. That always works.



    I've never had it not start when doing this.

    I have had occasions where the game did not shut down properly, and this type of problem would occur.  CTL+ALT+DEL and end every process called anything "Turbine".  TurbineInvoker.exe and TurbineLauncher.exe



    After doing this, you should be able to double click the desktop icon and start the updater.





    I hope this works for you.

    no luck bro... I didnt find anything with Turbine.

    I even reinstalled the game, but still nothing. =(

    really really frustrating.~~~!!!!!

    did you check your system tray? You might have minimized it by accident, adn all you gotta do is right click on the ring in the system tray, and click on Login...

    I would contact LOTRO tech support at this point.  I'm sure they will be able to resolve your issue.

    I contacted the tech support by ticketing... no reply yet~!!!

    Did you try what I suggested?   Double click the lotr icon and then immediately move cursor off the screen field of view.

    I had exactly the same problem and this works for me everytime.
