Can you solo?

Is it possible to solo the game?

If not how string is the community?

I'm part of a guild, but mostly solo (and craft).  I've read in the boards that someone solo'd to 35 (cap currently is 50) without ever having to group.  Group quests can often be solo'd as they go green, depending on class/equipment and skill.  I know some quests can be solo'd at blue, but you have to know what the quest storyline/strategy is first.

The death penalty is repair bills, though, so I sometimes take the risks.  I'm not a power leveller, but I like exploring, and this is a great game if you know the books, to just literally enjoy the interpretation of the artists in rendering the landscape (and the ambient music and foley work and so on).  I do like going on harvesting trips for resources in places I have no right to be, and get away with that kind of exploration with caution (and a few bills for repairs!).

But I'd say, the community is good, and the soloing is good.  It's a far cry from early DDO.  Group quests are *suggested* group for the most part (there are a couple that might be soloable by a tank but involve a mob of mobs, and I can't even solo them with my minstrel without OOM->dead).

I left early DDO because, as a person with a real life, I'm often logging on for an hour to decompress and harvest metal and wood.  I don't always have time to wait for an hour for a group to assemble and then go do a quest that takes an hour or more of run to fighting, run to PC, run to 2nd PC, whatever.  And I'm finding this very easy for my play style that way.

I've mostly solo'd to about 23rd in closed beta, and to 15 with 5 toons in open beta.  Toward the higher levels, I hear you do need safety in numbers, though.

Enjoy!  Perhaps I'll see you in game...

All classes have some soloability.  I personally prefer the Guardian (Tank) class for soloing.

There are many quests that require a group.  Groups have been pretty easy to find in my experience.

    Hope this helps.
