ok so i gave up wow about 3 weeks ago and last night i actually uninstalled it... so i found DAOC's 14 day trial and figured hey it's worth checking out especially since mythic is running it and i'm excited about warhammer... so it downloaded all last night and patched all this morning... i made an accound and went to load it and the bar gets almost to the end and then my mouse pointer appears on the screen and it won't let me minimize it or bring up project manager.... so i don't know what to do... can anyone help me this is really really pissing me off... thanks!

I can't say I have heard of that problem.  It would be best to call the tech support tomorrow.  Until then you can try the following:

go to this link, I think it is most likely your problem.  If not, then try the other 2 suggestions:

This issue can be caused by a service that loads with various versions of System Mechanic.

If you have System Mechanic then please do the following:

    -Right click on My Computer

    -Click on Manage

-Double click on Services and Applications

    -Click on Services

-Scroll down and search for one that says Iolo DMV Service.

-Double click on that service and change the startup type to Disabled.

    -Click Apply, then Ok

    -DAoC should run fine now.

    or

The integrated network card on your motherboard may be the cause of this issue.  Right-click on My Computer and select Properties. Go to Hardware, then Device Manager, then click on the + sign next to Network Adapters, and finally double-click on your network card. Go to the advanced tab and look in the Property list for an option named "Checksum Offload" (the exact phrasing may differ slightly for your card). Select this option, change the value to Disabled, click OK, and restart the computer.

UGH!!! so it lets me choose my server and everything however when it tries to go to what i assume is the character creation screen it stops and my mouse curser appears... i guess i'll just end up calling them tomorrow... i just wanna play so bad

download catacombs... also, if your computer is old it might not support the atlantis textures, reflective water, new character models and such

    Go here and install this:

    http://catacombs.darkageofcamelot.com/downloads.php

Once installed make sure you launch the game using the catacombs client.

Once in the game, go to options and make sure all of the bells and whistles are turned on.
