Wow good find there Anub, wow.. did you guys see that they were expecting 72 CLASSES! My gawd now that is some balancing , but anywho it was a nice read and also early release next year (Maybe): / , well i might just go buy something to tide me over until WAR hits. Maybe ill get back on my Vamp
Some more clarification about collision. Only happens in RvR. If a baddie is hedging you out, whack em’. If a friend is, you can ’squirt’ past them. Mostly, though, Jeff recommends killing the offender. This is WAR!
CD in RvR only. That's perfect.
Death penalty is not going to involve a lot of money; from comments it sounds like the goal is actually to downplay the role of cash money in the economy. This may be one of the elements mentioned in the press phone call about inhibiting RMT. If money isn’t that important the market will be less lucrative on third-party sites.
About time someone makes the game more focused on having fun than forcing me to have to farm a few thousand gold just to have fun. The less you have to worry about money, the better.
They had to cut waaay back on classes; their initial plan was for like 72. So, in comparison, the 24 they’re going to have seems quite reasonable.
72 is a LOT of freaking classes. It's nice to see they cut down on the number, plus it gives a lot more potential growth for future expansion.
Jeff’s preferred class will probably either be the pirate-y Witch Hunter, or one of the as-yet-unannounced Dark Elf classes.
Witch Hunters are pirate like, not stealthy. This was mentioned in the thread on Stealth being lame. However, just give us the freaking Elven professions already. Mythic is driving me nuts.
Great statement on the Public Quest system: “The public quests are one of those things that passes my genius test. My genius test is simple: if you see something, and upon seeing it you go ‘my god, that’s blindingly obvious,’ and yet you had never seen it up until that moment, then whatever it is that you’ve just seen was probably genius. Public quests will change the face of MMOs forever.
I absolutely agree with this statement. Public questing will absolutely change MMOs. This is a revolutionary feature. And it's a great one that needed to be added to MMOs so long ago.
The statement again that players will able to do all-PVP if they want, or all-PVE if they want. The assumption is that somewhere in the middle will be where most folks end up.
This quite solidly answers the question. You can do 100% PvP or 100% PvE if you want. Most people will mix it up, but I think this pretty much ends the discussion of whether or not there will be PvE in the game. Raiding is still left open for discussion though.
Best quote from the interview, esp. considering MOG’s ‘Skittle of the Month at the back of the magazine: “You’ll be wearing stuff that’s appropriate to what you do. We don’t like rainbow coloured characters … that’s rubbish.”
About freaking time. I hated my Dragonstalker armor colors in WoW. I looked like a walking neon light. Bright colors aren't bad if they look like they belong...ie Bretonnia. But the colors are all about their heraldry. They don't use a florescent purple color because they can. The armor and weapons should look like they belong in the game.

Agreed. It always seemed strange that the artists who designed WoW armor seemed to be completely and utterly color-blind. Even many of the Epic sets look hideous.
They've started to improve a little with T5 designs but for the most part they really need to hire better item designers.
The nice thing about WAR is the Games Workshop is always looking over their shoulders, so everyone has to match the IP. I think the problem with the Blizzard artists were that they only had to listen to the horrified feedback from the players, which they chose to ignore.
Who remembers back when the CMs on the WoW Forums released a picture of the T3 sets and so many people were ragging on the awful designs that the CMs actually scolded people for 'hurting the artists feelings'? The CMs told people how hard they had to argue to get the T3 picture to show and all that negative feedback would only mean they wouldn't be allowed to post future designs. It never seemed to occurred to Blizzard that maybe instead of berating their players they should have been firing their armor design team.
I am very unsure about this public quest thing. The way I understand it, you have to kill say 25 boars. To stop people from afking in the zone and just getting the reward they are doing "tier" rewards. The more you kill the better the reward. Well aren't you just going to be killing the same amount of boars to get that good reward?

Maybe someone could shed light on that.
Yeah this has been address you recived rewards based on how much effort you add. So if it has you kill like 300 somethings , and you kill / damage 0 (or don't heal people who are killing) then you get 0 reward. if you kill all 300 you get the full reward which is most likely a butt load, it may be capped even. Still , the reward is porportional to your effort... and for the healers remember your fighters too , so no worries.
Also they have stated that there will be end game pve dungeons, of some sort. If they still plan on having them i don't know.
Just a few however.

That's what I don't understand though. To get the basic good reward you are still killing the same amount as you would in any other MMO...they just try to hide that..
I don't think you are seeing the public quest system properly. It won't be go kill 300 boars and you are done. One of the examples they gave of an actual quest is this. Dwarves and Greenskins are in a PvP based quest. However, rather than by fighting each other, the Greenskins have to get their giant beer. The dwarves have to prevent the giant from getting said beer. So, which ever side accomplishes their said goals first wins. Based on how much you do during said quest determines how much of a reward you will get.
You can't think of the public quest system as your standard go here and kill x mobs then come back.

No even if it is tottaly npc and pve, its still better , becuase oen you don't need a group to do it , but its still a communal thing. Instead of soloing you still work together as a "side" to accompish a goal. Now, many of them will face you off aginst the other side and thus it is even more interesting.

I have mixed feelings about this-
Sure, that's nice because it'll make people who aren't doing anything except riding coat tails step up and actually participate in action- BUT, it will also have people purposly bring people into conflicts who aren't doing anything- so they can solo, and try to kill all 300 of the somethings, and get the best reward-
and what about repeating quests? Are people going to be complaining about only getting 1/2 reward because the other person killed too much? Can they re-do the quest then?
I think if it were just money- this might be cool, but with armor/weapon reward stuff, I don't know- mixed.
I dont know this for a fact, so Im speaking as a fan not a journalist.
I would wager money that you are going to be able to dye your armor and perhaps even your weapons.
Warhammer is based off the tabletop game and a large part of the table top game was/is painting your army. The war engine is also the same engine that mythic used in daoc. In daoc you could dye each part of your armor and your weapons. So not only can you put elf ears on your belt you can also dye your cloak white, and your armor Crimson and call your guild the Scarlet knights and sing your alma mater. RU rah rah RU rah rah...... oh sorry having college flashbacks again. nothing to see here carry on!

...
Its not really the same engine . Its the same name and its not its kind of between saying it using the same OS Windows. (well what windows becuase there a giant difference, yet there are similarities also).
Maybe more like the first adobe photoshop and the most recent. Similar functiosn but different.
