www.tvsquad.com/2007/04/25/fox-cancels-drive/Fox cancels Drive after 3 episodes. I was just starting to get into the show (I missed the premier) and I wanted to see where the story was going to go. But no. In a typical Fox bonehead maneuver they cancel a show before it has a chance to grow.
If it isn't a big hit right off the bat... then it's a failiure. They did it to Firefly and I gave them a second chance with this. That's it....
I am so done with Fox. Prison Break is getting weak... American Idol sucks.... Family Guy is getting boring.... and 24 is the same thing each season.
Good-bye Fox!!

People who have to create conspiracy and hate threads to further a cause lacks in intellectual comprehension of diversity.
Can also partly blame all the people downloading the shows.
As for the downloading shows thing... I don't believe that for a moment. Dozens of shows... maybe more are regualarly downloaded. That doesn't mean that people won't watch it on tv. Like Heroes, Battlestar Galactica, the Colbert Report.... and so on.
After canceling firefly prematurely and seeing it turn into a cult phenomenon which spawned a full length motion picture one would hope they would give a good show like Drive a chance to prove itself.
Why is it that every time a decent show makes its way onto the fox network they cancel it before it even gets started? I am about to give up on tv completely I swear. No firefly no space above and beyond and now no drive either?
Whats this world coming to?
Critical thinking is a desire to seek, patience to doubt, fondness to meditate, slowness to assert, readiness to consider, carefulness to dispose and set in order; and hatred for every kind of imposture.
What FOX remains with is cheap ass crap reality shows.
Watch your thoughts; they become words.
Watch your words; they become actions.
Watch your actions; they become habits.
Watch your habits; they become character.
Watch your character; it becomes your destiny.

Something like Firefly, or Drive, just can't compete.
People here, people that watch shows like that, are fringe dwellers. Occasionally, you get a show like Heroes that crosses over and becomes a hit, but nowhere near the numbers of something like American Idol, or Wife Swap, or Which Of You Dumbasses Wants To Get Owned By A 5th Grader On National TV. Because it gives Joe Sixpack something to point at and laugh, and say, "Hey, my life's not that bad after all. Look at those poor sumbitches, I'm better off than that!". And they feel just a bit better about their own miserable, inadequate failure of a life.
Never saw Drive, which I am kind of glad of, since they canceled it already, but when I did see the trailers for it, I thought, "What an interesting concept".
As for firefly, it would be best if no one mentions it. One of the few series which i've seen that in it's first season alone was absolutely spectacular. Fox needs to get a grip; 24 although good, does not have me cursing at the screen begging them for just one more minute after each episode, Prison break is good, spectacular in the first season, but the name of the series is self-explanatory, you can't keep on breaking out, and I suppose they could continually be on the run, but it'd be more like the Fugitive than prison break.
They're way too cancel friendly.

I dont really watch Fox very often. Their shows are typically pretty stupid. Their tactic of "Lets spam as many shows as possible with the hope that one or two catch on," results in lots of horrible shows. I also thought Drive looked like a lame rip off of the film "Death Race 2000."
