Looking for a Medieval Fantasy PvP Game

Hey, I'm looking for a Medieval Fantasy PvP game. I've done my research and can't be bothered to try the trials because its pointless. You can't experience the full potential of PvP in a game with a trial account so I don't see the point with using those to decide whether I'll enjoy the game or not for PvP.

Mainly I'm sick of having to rely on the MMO developers to get new content into the game (Example: World of Warcraft) where you play when new content comes in and then stop and wait for the next content patch after it gets boring. I don't like playing MMOs like that.

So I'm wondering what MMOs have fun PvP in a Medieval Fantasy setting. And yes I'm even prepared for a grind if its a korean game with fun PvP aslong as its worth it.

Till now I've found two PvP games; Lineage II and Dark Age of Camelot which seem to be very popular. I'm wondering what people think of them and if you know of any better games or similar MMOs with good PvP.

Thanks for reading this!

Well daoc was the first to come to my mind tbh.I played most major mmorpgs but this one suits what you are talking about. The onyl thing is i played it when it was just releasedso i don't know what state the game itself is in and how the gameplay and population is these days. But for that info you can go to the dark age of camelot forumpart here and ask the vets bout it.

Can`t say much about L2, but DAoC is a really great game for PvP (RvR), although it isn`t that funny anymore as it was some years ago.

However DAoC has one of the best Medieval RvR Settings and brings lot of fun!

PvE is quite boring, especially solo, but when you become 50 and get maybe a nice guild, u will experience awesome RvR Battles!!

If I were you, I'd try out Knight Online, it has the best PvP ever, but watch out for the cheaters (well, macro users)

Dark Age of Camelot has lower level PvP areas, as does WoW.  But the real PvP in DAoC starts at 50.

Now, Lord of the Rings Online has a slightly different model.

As a Dwarf / Elf / Human / Hobbit, you need to be 40 to PvP, with 50 being optimal (and grouped at that).

    BUT

You can start PvP as a fully fledged Level 50 monster when your Dwarf / Elf / Human / Hobbit characther is just level 10 !  Note : you don't level your Monster character to 50 ; it starts out at 50 !

And  there IS a point to LotRO PvP, for both your Monster character and your Free Peoples character.

    Check it out.

Well, this might be a bit more fantasy´ish than medieval, but my experience (havent tried DAoC) is for

Guildwars, their PvP if certainly worth some time, except its VERY instanced, if u can live with that, then u gotta a good pvp game until

    WAR pops..

    Just my opinion ;)

Most likely, at this time Lineage 2 would be your best choice "bang" "bang" shoot'em up rock'em sock'em robots action to date.

L2 is the best open PvP game in the business at the moment.

Out of those two,I'd go with Lineage 2. another game to consider is ArchLord

    Thanks for your replies!

Guild Wars I avoid. Not a fan of Arena PvP and the multiclass thing causes the PvP to have way too many healers. But thanks anyway for trying.

Now the real problem is all MMOs mentioned have their good and bad points.

Knight Online sounds good, but its a free-to-play MMO. I don't know how comfortably I can sit with that. And cheating drives me mad thats why I avoid free-to-play MMOs.

LOTRO is a very great game from what I've heard but I'm not a great Tolkin fan and I am aware of the interesting combat it has where you can choose to be a monster when you reach level 10 and go to Bree Town or one of the main villages.

Archlord is being given really hopeless reviews. I played in beta for a short time and found it a little fun, but a very clunky interface. Maybe it improved now but it went Free-to-Play if you purchase the game. But I am curious...how does Archlord compete in the PvP genre? What are its good points?

So far I'm thinking of between DAoC and Lineage II.

Hoping to hear about other MMOs which might have fun PvP too...

Well you said you don't mind a grind if the pvp is worth it....  L2 is a grind and then some..... WoW spoiled me, I wont ever play a game that has a that kind of grind ever again. But like you I am looking for a mmo with great pvp. I'm checking out Guild Wars: Factions right now, the alliance v alliance (ala R v R) looks fun and of course the guild vs guild and other pvp they have. Haven't read anything about most people specing healer as you seem to think. You can only have 8 skills on your skill bar at a time. I would think that would make it hard for non healing classes to be as effective as a mostly pure healer, in pvp at least.
