Why is this thread still alive? I'm assuming if threads like this http://www.mmorpg.com/discussion2.cfm/thread/127429 are being locked that this one would be also.
Did MMORPG.com get bought out by SilkyVenom recently? Or did you guys hire KariTR as a board mod?
Oh, and a big pre-emptive /chuckle for when SOE buys out Sigil next week and takes the game away from Brad.

Noone reported it one suppose. And you can't honestly see the difference between the topics and the actual purpose of Mars505 3(!) topics earlier today.
That SOE buyout news would have been announced this week, as this week is/was the actual "next week". I guess they have tomorrow friday to announce it on.

I think people are losing the meaning of the word troll.
I understand that some people post comments about the game and give little reasons behind their statements but this happens in EVERY forum not just this one.
If the opinion is negative and has reason behind it that is explained in more than just a few words then it is not a troll post. Simple.

IMO Trolls come in defender trolls and Attacker Trolls.
Defender Trolls attack anyone with any kind of negative opinion no matter how well conveyed.
Attacker Trolls Attack anyone with a positive Opinion that differs from their own.

If you want a one sided debate go to one of the Vanguard fansites such as Silky Venom or Vanguard Vault. If you want to come to a place where people will freely express their opinion then mmorpg.com lets us do that. If VG were a good game I would openly express that opinion. However, it is not so I say so.

I believe both sides, the Vanguard hates and the lovers, have valid stuff to say. And besides, that's how these forums are kept interesting right? That's the whole idea of forums right, to discuss and defend our opinions? Personally I can't forgive Sigil with their disaster launch, they seem to be bringing out solid patches for Vanguard but the damage has already been done. First impressions count! I'm not going to settle paying a monthly fee for a bloody game in beta. They will continue to bring out games in unfinished states as long as people are willing to buy them and too many are eager to. Not to sound like a doomsayer but Vanguard is a trainwreck that can't be repaired unless drastic changes are made. It's a slightly prettier EQ1 clone with a World of Warcraft interface that thought it could appeal to every type MMO player but not realizing the majority of the MMO market won't take EQ1 tedium anymore. Questing is lucklustre, unimaginative and terribly generic and repetitive. The damn death system is over-the-top and too much like EQ1 - no one wants that stupid crap anymore with running around naked dodging enemies to get your corpse in some awkward position and suffering exp penalties for it.
Maybe it'll be like EQ2, where it started off horrible but got much better over a few years but by a few years better stuff will have arrived. There's WAR out next year and Darkfall sometime in the future (if that ancient thing ever finally gets launched.) I suppose handing VG over to SOE is for the best.

I don't know about Vanguard Vault, but Silky Venom's had their own run of flame wars and negative posts lately. In some threads, their site doesn't look any different than this one.
This is true, every site has it share of flamers and it does keep it interesting. I especially love the ones who say they quit a month ago and still posts daily about a game they quit. Thats free entertainment
Hardcore gamers are just frustrated with the lack of anything innovative in MMO's. The past year or so has been horrible as far as anything fun being released. Many had high hopes that Vangard was this game but as you can see its a HUGE flop so whats next. Can't really blame them considering the money forked out for such a piece of junk software honestly.
