Hey guys, thinking of picking up this game to check it out. I read the specs on the LOTRO website, and I have the minimum requirements, but my question is this (since that isnt always the best gauge): Does the game run pretty smooth for those of you running rigs at around the specs they recommend?
I have an old PC from 2003 that runs SWG (I dont play this anymore) and WoW just fine. Will I have issues with LOTRO? (my pc is a 2003 dell dimensions with a gf5200fx card, and 1 gig of ram). Thanks!

Sounds like you should be just fine - I have a friend running on a crappy old celeron with a horrible vid card and she's able to play with very low settings. The game really works quite well on weaker machines from what I hear - try to get a buddy key if you can to test it out. There is a great website which I forget the URL of right now, which allows you to select a game and it runs a scan of your pc to tell you if you can run it. I'm at work, I have it bookmarked at home... I'll try to find it for you. If anyone knows the site pls post it.
BOYCOTTING EA / ORIGIN going forward.
http://www.systemrequirementslab.com/referrer/srtest, Dunno if this is the same site as you mentioned but it has Lotro on it aswell.

They did a great job scaling the graphics. Lower settings still look good, and it is easy on the hardware.
If you're considering upgrading at some point, a 6xxx or 7xxx video card would help; there are still some AGP cards available I think. And LotRO seems to really like 2 G of RAM.
I'm running a 3 1/2 year old, but upgraded machine: 2.6 GHz Pentium 4, 2G RAM, 1280 X 960, and 7800GS card, and running on very high (with some Ultra High) settings, with shadows off, high draw distance. Slight hitching in heavily occupied areas.
