Ok just happened to visit this site and saw the ad for Second Life so I visited the site. It seems to be Sims on crack or somethin. Anyone play this 'game'? How is it?

I just visited the main site after seeing hte 7 day add on the main page here too. Must say i'm interested to try it out. The client is small so worth giving it a go I suppose, but my problem with what i read in the ratings section here was that even thogh it's tried to be a totally open game, letting you do what you want. They seemed to have missed out any combat or mission/questing in the game, so it essentially does just sounds like you wonder around, doing stuff, cleaning the dishes I wonder? I can do stuff like that in real life thanks, dont need a second life to do it in

You can Play for a onetime fee of 9$ which is what I did.
Its all about the community, you make your clothes your house your items. If you can dream it you can do it. Lots of things like clubs with live DJ's and stuff going on ingame where people just party and hang out.
For example.. if you wanted to make and roleplay a Jedi, make youself a lightsaber robe and script some force powers and then make your own starwars group ingame. Or you could create and run your own cyberpunk wasteland, its all up to you.
One thing few people don't know is there is a big sex/porn/fetish community in SL which I stay away from (its just weird...) so this game isn't ment for the younger gamers.
Lastly there is alot of roleplaying. Almost everyone roleplays. If your into it you can join all kinds of groups/cities/clubs with different themes. Many fantasy and sci-fi communitys.
This game is for someone with a big imagination who likes to build things/create stuff.

Although I glanced through the site once, I already knew it wasn't for me when I saw the quote on the advertisement that appears on this website. You know the one from Time: "It's like the Matrix... without the evil machines."
?!?! What's the point then? That is basically saying its like (blank), with all the good stuff taken away! Its like the Lord of the Rings... with no bad guys! No thanks!
