OK i just saw it and man im like WTF MATE i mean WoW is MUCHCHCHCHCHHCH better and its not even on the top 5 or whatever lotro sucked i played both betas and its horrible no offense now im prepared for all the flame but how can the rate this game 7.8 or whatever in the review but yet its up there LMAO man im guessing the players rank the game but does everyone got it sooo wrong but whatever i know its not the best MMORPG just messed up!

The most important part of reading is reading between the lines.
And guess what, this game isn't even popular on MMORPG.com, since the crowd here mostly consists of sandbox-PvP-disciples. Actually, I have played WoW for a pretty long time now and I do not consider it to be better than LotRO.

Everybody knows, mmorpg.com rating is flawed. You want a real rating, look at the sale number. Hell i saw Roma Victor on the top 5 list once, give me a break lol. Too many fanboys giving all 10 rating to a very average game, that's what explain the inflated rating.

Everyone knows the rating system is flawed after look at the rating this game had when it first cma out 9.3 or something likr that and that was only because it was hyped up by its fans. Now its 8.5 because its now available to the generall community to rate so the generall rating does go down.
Eventually the rating wil settle down depending on how good it is and how many people from other games automatically lower its rating, This is a normal thing in this site.
The more people with multiple accounts who like or dislike a game are realy in charge of the rating. I mean 1 vote doesn't matter much, but im sure someone has 100 accounts just to vote for the games they like and dislike completely sqewing the games. If ya wan't a real review goto IGN, or Eurogamer, or a multitude of other sites who have actualy rated it HIGHER than the 8.5 it has here.
In the end it is only the people who have no lives who really care about the top list as if your having fun with a game who is it to say you arn't? I mean realy who cares.
hmm already 683 votes and still at 8.5, i heard that teory with 70 votes or so. But 683 votes is telling that maybe you are wrong.

There are a lot of Tolken fans out there - that's basically all this post says. Not how good the game is but, just that lotr is popular. Actually after that last crazy long and slightly gay movie I loose all interest in the tolken world.

Yeah, I preordered to get into beta and guess what? I didn't buy it...so assuming that there are more people who did the same that 600k number is meaningless. Let them release their subscriber numbers and then we'll talk.
WOW might be better than LotRO in your opinion, but you failed to offer even one credible example why...you just said LotRO sucked. (that's considered flaming on these forums btw, and can catch you a short vacation from posting)
You seem upset that WOW isn't in the top 5. Why? Who really cares? You like WOW for the reasons that you do, and the poll numbers here will not change either your opinion or the number of subscribers that are playing WOW right now.
As to the LotRO review ratings, those are going to be taken down for now, since it was based on the beta version of the game (they generally try to review finished & released games, which is why you haven't seen a VG review yet.) The biggest complaint on the review's ratings weren't about the scores posted, rather the complete lack of negative information to substantiate the reviewers opinions. (er..sort of like your post actually)
I'm sure a lot of folks agree with your assessment that LotRO isn't the best MMORPG out there (I tend to agree, but I'm still playing LotRO), but they aren't all worked up over it and posting poorly written forum posts.
Oh yes, you seem to be upset that folks have criticized your writing style. Forums are a written medium my friend, and if you want to be taken seriously, you have to be willing to take the time to put together intelligent posts.
And of course you got responses from LotRO fans, that was the intention of your post. Aren't you happy you got what you wanted? (why are trolls always so happy about this?)

you guys have to admit this game doesn't deserve to be ranked #1, its just fanboys who have been voting over and over. After 1 week theres no way to judge this game as #1 expecially since it only has 1 faction and no pvp....
Hate to break it to ya but WoW didn't invent MMORPGs.
But it sets the standard.

Actually I along with others I'm sure would say it certainly does deserve its rank. I had 0 interest in playing this game because of so much let down on other games in the past few years. The last game I really enjoyed was SWG-preCU, CoH before that, Anarchy Online before that, and Eq at the start. I've played most of all the games that fall in between those and just didn't enjoy them.
On the next to last day of beta I decided to DL it on fileplanet and give it a whirl to kill some time...and fell in love with it! The whole LOTR aspect really has little to bear on me liking it at all. It's the fact that it is a fun game and an enjoyable playerbase so far. Much like CoH was, SWG was, EQ was. There are elements in this game that make it fun and enjoyable to sit down and play (which is a change from so much other stuff out there IMHO). You don't like it? Cool, don't play it. I played WoW for a short time and didn't like it...I didn't feel compelled to say everyone is wrong, or a fanbois, or full of tish, etc...
It's a good game and alot of people enjoy it. Some don't....*shrug*
PvP is not the "be all, end all" for everyone. It actually tends to ruin good games in my opinion simply due to balance issues. You and others say after only 1 week there's no way to judge it #1? Maybe, but you can't also judge it as crap, or a WoW clone (love how the book that introduced todays standard fantasy template is a WoW clone..)
Time will tell, and I think LOTRO will be around for a good while with a dedicated and happy/content playerbase. Kudos to Turbine for a good launch of a good game.

I am not sure I understand the OP's rant. In the last two years the "much better WOW" has only briefly made it to the top five. The top five has always been dictated by the fanbois of the various games. EVE has been on the top for so long that I would hazard a guess that most people stopped putting much reliance in the rankings given in the top five.
That aside, his well stated (/sarcasm) entry on the merits of WOW over LOTRO is his opinion and he is entitled to his perspective. Frankly, based on his apparant social skills I am glad I won't see him logging onto LOTRO.
