EQ2 or Vanguard

Torn between buying these two games because there isn't crap out there.  I don't want to play WoW.  So between those two which one?

I have EQ2, but not Echoes or expansion, so I will have to buy those.  So what should I pic?? Honestly.  I'm dying to play something besides free point/click overseas crap.

I played both and eq2 is the way better game, so i would get eq2 if I was you cause vanguard is very bug ridden.

Can't speak for Vanguard but EQ2 sucks IMO. WoW is still the best MMO to date for the casual gamer. Warhammer will be too pvp centric for me to care about but Age of Conan might have something new to offer.

Between the two of those, EQ2. Vanguard has a lot of potential, but it's still unfinished. Playing a week of Vanguard on a buddy key is what made me re-open my EQ2 account.

Been playing EQ2 since release. I love it

Vanguard was released too early but depending on what you like that might be the right choice for you. A huge gaming world, very large non-instanced dungeons and 'actual' crafting that's a little more in depth than just pushing one button and grabbing a drink. Unless you have a fairly new computer with a good graphics card and 2 GiG RAM the game will be a little sluggish for ya.

EQ2 is simply the most polished and best MMO out there right now(except the PvP aspect), its not a game where you can get into the high level content in a week or two(WoW) and to me there never was an rush to get to 'end game' in EQ2. EQ2 was put together correctly in that aspect, there is an infinite amount of things to do from 1 to max level regardless of your playstyle.

Honestly, if you've only an hour or so nightly I'd say LOTRO or WOW is the better choice.

If you've 2 hours or more a night EQII or Guild Wars is you're best bet. If you've more than that  I'd say Vanguard or Lineage II as both are pretty envolved.

While I've enjoyed them all it really depends on you're schedule.

    1) LOTRO & WOW = MMO Lite

    2) EQII & Guild Wars = MMO medium

    3) Lineage II & Vanguard = Grindy MMO advanced.

ATM..I find EQII the most complete MMO of the current crop with L2 a close second, however you're mileage may vary...

I am sorry to say that, because I was a Vanguard enthusiast, but EQ2 hands down.

Better performance, more stability, better graphic, more content, solid community.

Vanguard is in the process to be watered down and it will become a clone of EQ2.

So why wait to play a copy when you can get the original now?

Given the choice, I'd say EQ2. Everything I've been reading about it lately suggests it's come a long way since launch.

Vangaurd needs a whole lot of work, if not a complete overhaul, which will take a while. Go with the more stable, polished game instead.

Although I don't play EQ2 anymore, I didn't leave because I didn't like the game, I found something I liked more. I would definitely go for EQ2 out of the 2 choices you presented.

You must not leave until you free Arlos and have gathered your party safely in this hallway.

Vanguard all the way. EQ2 is pretty much crap. Do you like BoE, TLC and instances? Then EQ2 may be for you. If you like freedom and a big sandbox of a game, Vanguard is the one.  But you need a decent pc and at least 1.5 gig of ram.
