Most likely Blizzard's announcement is going to deal with what they've been working since WoW was published and Starcraft Ghost "delayed infinitely". And it's likely that game will be RTS game, as Blizzard was hiring RTS map developers some years ago. They wouldn't have used them in Starcraft Ghost and it's unlikely that they'd have needed RTS map developer to WoW either. My guess is Starcraft 2.
And their plans about that next-gen MMO will likely be announced "when they are ready to do so", meaning that they develop it quite far before telling the public any info. It's Blizzard style, they don't start hype too early.
If they really are making a major announcement in S. Korea next month my money is on some form of a new Starcraft game due to the original's huge popularity there....
As to a new MMO...I'd go with Starcraft just because while I loved Diablo 1, I hated the 2nd one and we need a good sci-fi based MMO.

It would make sense to make a "next gen" MMO for Starcraft. Why? There is already a lot of content premade from the failed Ghost project. Easily integrated into a new set of mechanics.
as long as it has no 'leveling' or grind whatsoever it will be good other than that just another failure
yeah shame, another billion dollar failure for blizzard......truthfully speaking i dont think failure and blizzard have ever been in the same sentence.

If they're making the announcement in South Korea, then I'm guessing Starcraft. That five year old game is as popular in South Korea as probably reruns of "Starsky and Hutch." To the rest of the world, our table scraps are main entrees.

Yeah, over $1 billion in retail sales +$120 million a month is such a "failure". Honestly, your comment is one of the most detatched from reality I've seen posted on these forums (and considering I also read the vaguard forums, that's saying a lot).

Holy crap its like you've never played WoW or Diablo before. All of Blizzards "rgps" are level, grind games.

Diablo, for sure.
diablo for shizzle man... diablo > all games!
Starcraft, would be awsome with a shoot 'em up mmo instead of another hack and slash mmos.
Also, the starcraft games rock my world.

OMG, Blizzard is gonna use a tweaked version of the existing engine (WOW engine) for the next mmo. Yuck

Right because all of their other games were such huge failures.
Read the article again. What he said was if they were going to port WoW they WOULD use a tweaked version. But they're not. So it isn't.
Basically what he's trying to say is that it will be nothing like WoW.

the announcement will be kept 19 20th of may. it will be kept in south korea, you can bet it is gonna be a Starcraft game, prolly starcraft 2.
I do not think it is gonna be a mmorpg, not right now. Maybe later they will make another ,but nothing of that is certain.

Diablo, but since Blizz has a fantasy title, I'm probably guessing they'll go sci-fi like Starcraft.
