Well, im sure this post has been seen here more then once but the fact is that i need some help in this matter.
Ok, a little backround..
I started my mmo-life with DAoC (non-RP), later i bought WoW where i started my "RP-life" but gave it up sence the RP in that game really isnt.. not in the higher lvls anyway. So now i heard of a new game, Vanguard, sounded good so i got it, well.. i like this game, but i found it abit empty and still with some bugs, but well, i have hopes for this.. but until Vanguard live up to a good RP-game i want to put it on ice. so now im looking for another game.
Im kind of an solo/semi-grouper, a game of grinding is not for me, im looking more for quests and alot to do on the side like crafting/housing.
So that the game gives something else then just grinding guestkilling..
i have heard of LoTR, but at release this game doesnt sound so promesing? i havent played it at all but i have read much fact on it and stuff that is said on the hompage of LoTR makes this game to be a second Vanguard-release, many things i want is a "will be added in the future" or "this is something we plan to put into the game but not at release"...
So is there any other game out there that matches my needs? or should i just try this LoTR out?
Many thanks

I just posted this in one of the other threads (sorry about repeating myself, but that other thread's title was simply "roleplayer with questions" - not sure someone looking for new games would look there):
Have you tried Neverwinter Nights (1 or 2)? It's not a traditional MMO exactly, but there are many user hosted MMO servers out there with persistent worlds. Many of those have stories (or at least a history with an ongoing "plot") and the ability to play good or evil (or somewhere in between). Plus, they're all free! You of course have to buy the game for $50 (for version 2, version 1 you could probably get for $20 or something), but that's given. Some of those worlds are just huge!
To add to this in response about your comment about wanting quests, crafting, and housing, NWN has all of this (though housing may be limited - don't know - it's basically up to the world developer to program it in there). Some worlds will have more, others less - it's just a matter of finding one you like. There are lots of resources with info about the different worlds out there (and you can also get info on a world when in the multiplayer lobby).

Who could ask for more?
Wow, am I a geek or what?
Many thanks, well i have both NWN 1 and 2, tho i havent been playing NWN 2 that much, tried it in singel for a time.
well.. maybe i will get back to it and try it online!

The sad point is, Neverwinter Nights 2 doesn't have pretty developted servers yet. They are about to come, but still have time until there. And then, Neverwinter Nights 1's servers are closing to begin projects to 2. So, we're on a 'delay' on both sides.
When the servers comes out, don't hesite. It's the best rp outta there.

Neverwinter Nights is totally lousy for roleplay
There are a good deal of servers where they claim to be RP... But out of all those, only a very few ones are actually RP and players are actually over 13 years old...
And all of those few worlds are all equal to eachoter... "World of Zaaehka... Based on Forgotten Realms... Where the great battle of dragons of 3157 is attacking the city of Wuasoaj... Where now adventurers arrive to put an end on this and explore the new world... Wich side will you choose?" etc etc bla bla cliche...
I'm still desperatly looking for a Online Multiplaying Game where people ACTUALLY roleplay :P
