Hmmm this sounds a lot like Darkfall....

in Age of Conan: Unchained
I just went to the website to do some research on AoC and i read up on the features. Other than the fact that in Darkfall theres no levels and free skills.... Age of Conan seems to have the same features...



Real-Time Combat based on Player Actions

Cities to build and siege..



so I ask....



WHY AM I WAITING ON DARKFALL!?? AGE OF CONAN WILL OWN!!!!!

    I don't understand why anybody is waiting for Darkfall anymore,since its so clearly vaporware

    Sorry to be a ballbuster but don't have to many expectations of this game beeing a sandbox game, it won't be sandbox.

    i could care less about sandbox, i want to be able to build and siege cities. Thats what draws me to darkfall but since this game has it, why wait?

    I can assure you that AoC won't be linear,its a friggin MMO FFs

    AoC won't be a true sandbox game, there's no avoiding that. Having levels at all alone disqualifies it for that description. However, it is bound to be FAR less linear than game like LOTRO and WoW. The quest and skills system guarantee that.

    A linear game force you to take an certain move.Even if there are linear quest lines in lotro,wow etc it doesn't mean you have to follow them,so imho no mmo is linear.

    The graphics, character movements, and spell casting look far superior to Darkfall too!

    The most significant difference between AoC and Darkfall is that Darkfall is entirely constructed from gaseous substances, while AoC is at the very least constructed of some kind of liquid with solids in suspension.

    I'm quite sure that there are other significant differences, but this one is the most obvious to me.

    Yeah I see some definate similarites to Darkfall here.  I really do hope there will be more open pvp servers as Funcom have said they will supply them if theres a demand. And that they do have the technology in place for it.



    Im fairly certain the demand will be there. Just got to wait and see.

    I disagree, the difference between AOC and Darkfall is that Darkfall is and will be crap, thats assuming it ever comes out.

     

    AOC on the other hand alteast will be a very solid game, if Funcom can do one thing right its that they make very solid games.

    AoC is about half of what Darkfall is... okay promises, to be. Will be playing both.

    If i wasn't under an NDA, i'd say this game is by far the best game i have ever played,

    I think by the time darkfall releases it will be too little too late. The MMO genre is moving fast atm, and since they seem not to have the manpower/monetary back up they cant keep up fast enough. Its a great concept and if it ever sees the light of release and delivers on its promise it will be a decent game. But if you think about it by the time it releases darkfall may very well be obsolete. Which is a shame because ive been wanting to play it for a long long time.

    Name one other FFA PvP game in development. Even if it would take another 5 years for Darkfall to launch, it would still be unique.

    Thats why were waiting for Darkfall. Not that people wont play AOC if it comes out before DF beta.
