i asked this question because EVERY race has been able to be warriors. what is it about the blood elves that makes them unable to play this most basic of all classes... they can be paladins but not warriors this makes no sence..

Well, I think you just answered your own question (from a gameplay perspective). I mean, it would be just boring and standard to give every single class warriors.
Now as for the lore reasons: What do you know about blood elves? Lets stop and look at their history. The blood elves were once highelves--great spellcasters that aided the alliance against the horde. They have tasted the taint of demonic magic and become addicted, and still they continue to be powerful spellcasters. Hmm... seems like they're very geared towards magic.

I'd bet that rogues simply because of their elven heritage which I believe ultimately stemmed from nightelves. Besides that, rogues aren't based on Stamina and Strength like warriors, they're mostly based on Agility. Maybe not the most consistent of Blizzard but I have the feeling it deals more with balance issues than lore, although the lore can be translated to support it.
Edit: And sorry if the first post seemed a little sarcastic, kinda short-tempered right now.
Even in Warcraft 3 Exp. The blood elves warrior like unit had a lot of magic spells they can cast. They are a magical race, so paladin makes more sence then a warrior.
I dont really get that myself. Warrior is the simplest of professions. I consider them the grunts of the RPG world. Anyone can swing a sword or carry a shield. I can almost understand the paladin thing but again it doesnt seem right. Paladins have always been the holy warriors of the RPG genre. Blod elves are anything BUT holy. Then again neither are night elves. So I guess its a moot point.
yeah i really dont care wat they can be etc but wats funny is that in a few official wow burning crusade pics it shows a be chik wearing full might with quel serrar

And every race but tauren can be a rogue this makes no sense*
Now im not to sure about this one but also warriors dont use magic. I think every class that the Blood Elf can be uses magic. Not to sure about this one but its my guess. I think the rogues are the only ones that they can be that dont use mana.

It makes loads of sense. When it comes to quietly sneaking around a 6 foot 8 inch Tauren with hooves so heavy they shake the ground when he stomps would be bottom of my list.
I think, due to lore, BEs don't have a real standing army as such, and little facility for warrior training. I think the lack of warrior class is in place to simulate the innate magical nature of everything they do. Even the rogue has two (racial) abilities that are highly based on magic, even though that magic is converted into energy, in the case of a rogue.
I guess the closest they have to warriors are those city guards, but I'm guessing those are a relatively new thing.

According to lore, the Blood Elves forcefully took the light as their own. They got a little curious I guess and found out the light can bring them power. In Silvermoon City, in the Paladin area, there are two initiate paladin NPCs talking about how they never realized how powerful the light really was and that they were fools not to use it sooner.
I understand the whole warrior issue a little. I mean I'm surprised they got rogues, because I thought they'd get nothing but mana users. But it does make sense because I doubt Blizz was about to give them Druids or Shamans because, I don't know, that would just be like wtf?? I believe they got Rogues, and Hunters for that matter, because it is part of the Elf background, nature, and lore.

That's right and if you would know a little more then you would know that Paladins, called Blood Knigths and possibly priests do NOT take powers from the Light but from a Naaru captured and kept imprisoned in the Blood knights headquarters in silvermoon city. Yes, you can go there and spit on him if you wish, it is red and ?? Elite. No it is not gonna move.
So, Nope BE paladins are NOT holy. they are quite the opposite. even their warhorse is dark and with red decorations instead of the more noble looking Alliance warhorse.
Night Elves are very holy, what makes you think otherwise? they do not have paladins just because that is a human/dwarf specialty as it come from the Light. but being Holy, ie: spiritual, does has nothing to do with the Light. Night Elves are higly religious people with deep spiritual belief, they just worship other entities than the Naaru.
AS why BE cannot be warriors? mostly balance. THey already have 6 classes and there was no place for a 7th. It goes without saying that the magical race for excellency should have ALL pure casters, so mage, warlock and priest. 3 slots. They get hunter because of their famous Rangers, 4 slot. They get Rogue because it just make sense, Elves being known for their agility and dexterity. 5th slot. 1 left, which one? shaman and druid are out, BE are not a shamanistic society. Remain paladin or warrior. Paladin use magic, warrior does not, so they get paladin.
In The lore they should get Spellbreakers
"If you give a man a fish, you feed him for a day, if you teach him how to fish, you feed him for a lifetime"
tbh if you were a guy that could live for a thousand years+ you wouldnt piss around being only a warrior.....you'd get a decent hobby, rather than doing something any old joe can do.

Why can't undead be shaman?
Why can't tauren be mages?
Why can't orcs be druids?

The Horde already have too many warriors, because Orcs and Taurens make the best warriors in the game.
Jokingly - Because I've never seen a tranny warrior...
Seriously - Perhaps because as a warrior they wouldn't have access to magical spells? BE's of course love magic.
.... really? you know that rogue gains energy with mana tap right? and a warrior would gain rage with it right?
doesn't sounds so useless anymore eh? but well.. no warriors for now
