As metioned in my other post.. A dev from SWG has told me that most of the old VG team is gone and the EQ2 team is taking over... blah blah.
Anyway for months I have posted about how large of a POS VG is and how Brad can't and won't get it together, only to have the waves of Fanbois flaming me for being realistic.
I honestly was hoping the game would be good. VG has potential but now it's pretty much over.
Here are the facts:
SOE is developing another game and two more expansions. They will only have a limited staff to keep VG going.
SOE is famous for not developing anything really unique so VG will end up with ho-hum "themepark" content., nerfs and more bugs than a crackwhore.
If some of the original staff does stay, I highly doubt they will have much to do with content but mostly will be figureheads so people feel like "Oh they really do care about the community, crap" and "Oh they they may work for SOE now but they care about the game... blah blah good cop / bad cop crap"
And once again I was told that some of the SWG staff will be working on it so ... LMAO!! You know the kinda quality programming one can expect. I just hope they send the fanbois some KY.. Oh wait the fanbois will support anything as long as they are kissing somebodies ass... oops my bad
Eitherway it sure does feel good to be validated especially after dealing with these rabid fanbois all these months.
Comments
SOE would shoot itself in the head by not providing Vanguard adequate resources.
Obviously, all of the above (including my post) is speculation and rumor. Entertaining? (shrug, it can be).
I spoke to a SWG dev as well. He told me I was awesome and that VG would get guns next month. Big ones.
Hehe. You are awesome (I am sure).
I am not so thrilled about "guns" (I heard they would be on ships) but I am open to new things.
Vanguard continues to improve and receive enhancements; it is a very fun game for ME. I am going to provide a detailed post that is targeted for people following Vanguard's progress and wondering, "has the game improved - what is its current condition?" It is important to do this, I think, because Vanguard-lovers and Vanguard-haters are not making much sense to people.

I am looking forward to your detailed report healz4U, I might add mine as well. Do not listen to Markaj, he is the "running gag" here on the forums.

What about Living Now?
We need an objective, truthful, and unbiased analysis of where Vanguard is (how it has or has not improved) in its present state. The Vanguard-lovers and the Vanguard-haters are often disrespectful to this community and dishonorable to themselves.
I will, I think, provide this detailed report subsequent the second Update, which is anticipated in a week or so. Edit: I believe it is expected in two weeks, the 2nd major Update. However, I am pressured to provide this sooner because the sense is that it cannot come a day too late or too soon for or the other camps. It is important to note they are not, and will not be, my audience. I seek neither popularity nor approval (or disapproval) but to share with this great community an honest, detailed, and objective analysis of Vanguard in its present condition. Vanguard-haters will keep us in the past, and Vanguard-lovers will have us hope for the future. We need something better and honest.
I hate to bust your ego down a few pegs, but the truth is that your opinion is no more valid than any of the rest of us. I understand you want an unbiased opinion on the game, but you are by no means the first one to have that idea, and certainly not the only person 'qualified' to present one.
If you all want to know what Vanguard is like, go get yourselves a trial membership and check it out for yourselves. Why bother waiting for some self-appointed almighty uber-neutral tool to grace you with his awe-inspiring and all-encompassing pronouncement on the state of this game. After all, he's only doing it because all the rest of us jackasses are too stupid to have our own opinion
Well here's my unbiased review of Vanguard for the past, present and future,
Past = Vanguard/Sigil/Brad did not deliver.
Present = Vanguard/Sigil/Brad do not deliver.
Future = I wouldn't bet my time and money that vanguard/Sigil/Brad will deliver, but who knows? It's possible just not probable.

I dont give a **** about who develops, produces, distributes and supports a game. I just know that VG is the best MMORPG out there, Its getting fixed at an amazing rate and the fact that I see hundreds of dev posts every day proves that they work full time for VG and that they care to discuss the direction they will take with the community. Do you know any other company that allows the devs to speak with the community? I havent seen that anywhere else.
I see all haters belonging in one of the next groups:
1) People with crappy 4 year old computers that can't play, so they bash the game cause it exposes their lack of hardware.
2) People that find VG hard because of the death system and the slow leveling, because they cannot play 48 hours non-stop and reach an uber status.
3) People that work for other companies (turbine etc) or have a profit if VG fails.
4) People that are trolling no matter if they post in a MMO forum , an athletics forums, a music forum, or troll all day in their real life no matter with who and about what they are talking about. They are called assholes.

Btw I heard Bill Gate is interested in buying Sony for the PS3. *yawn*
Now playing: VG (after a long break from MMORPGS)
Played for more than a month: Darkfall online, Vanguard SOH, Everquest, Horizons, WoW, SWG, Everquest II, Eve
Nope, sorry. Built my system two months ago. Not only could it play Vanguard, but it could do it at the highest setting, and at largely playable FPS. The only exceptions to that? When I was near groups of other players, or inside a city. That's a problem in an MMO.
LOLZ. I played the original EQ for over three years, from the time it launched in 1999, until the Ykesha expansion. Vanguard was easier than EQ by a mile, although Brad is *clearly* stuck in the past, since the two games were nearly identical in many other ways.
LOL @ conspiracy theories like these. They're funny.
Right, because people around here couldn't possibly have tried the game and found it lacking. They must just be here to cause problems for St. Brad of McQuaid, Patron of the Lack of Foresight.

OK, you tried a game and did not like it. Move on to something else. You and your troll friends have told us million of times that the game is crap and that we are idiots because we spend time on it and because we support McQuaid's work. We understand and believe you are correct. Can you move on now and go play the games you like? BTW, tell us which game you like.Again with Mr "I have a source AFTER the fact!"...
Here are the ONLY facts:
1) Things will be changing... Duh.
2) That's all that's known... Since Brad & SOE are still working out the deal, they don't even know, so how does your source? Is he an Exec? IT'S SMED, ISN'T IT?!?!?!
3) You can't keep your "facts" straight... Is it EQ2 Dev's or SWG Dev's?
4) You have no source... Tell you what, if you do, tell us something FACTUAL BEFORE it happens... surely your source can give you a small piece of info... with so much happening it should be easy...
I'll start my own SWG... with Black Jack... and Hookers!!!
In fact, forget the SWG!!!!
Does that make sense?
I am reluctant to ask, as I typically do not engage in a serious discussion with Vanguard-haters. Nevertheless, I will ask if you state this based on experience or assumption? That is, if you are not currently playing and assuming that the game is not "delivered," then I believe you are deceiving and being dishonest to this community.
I think there is a (very) fine line here between assumption and flat-out lie as well.
Edit: To be clear, if you are commenting on the present state of the game yet do not play the game, then you are not in a credible (qualified) position to make those comments. Your comments are then nothing but assumptions (lies?).
I have. But the forums around here are interesting, so I stick around.
And really, it's not because I hate Vanguard. I hate the fact that a game that had so much potential to be great was pissed away by incompetent time and resource management. With a budget of $30+ million and over five years in development, VG should have been much farther along than it was. That it has failed so far is entirely on the shoulders of the devs, including Brad McQuaid. It's not SOE for once.
I was looking forward to VG. It's a damned shame that Sigil just couldn't pull it off.
I don't think people are idiots for liking Vanguard. I honestly don't care if they like the game, or if they play it. I only think they're idiots if they mindlessly defend the game, and act as if it doesn't have any flaws. Same goes for the ones who feel compelled to stereotype anyone with a negative slant as a kiddie, a troll, a "hater" or someone who works for another game company.
Enjoy Vanguard. Really. Just don't be so quick to stereotype its critics.
My primary game for the past 3+ years has been City of Heroes/Villains. I've also got an account in WoW, which I re-activated strictly for the Burning Crusade after not playing the game for two years, and I just activated an account in LOTR, which is a nice, polished game, and has been really well done by Turbine. I've also applied for a beta slot in Tabula Rasa and my guild applied to try out WAR.
I'm a fan of the MMO genre. Have been since EQ. Just because Vanguard failed to live up to its potential in my eyes doesn't change that, so I post on this site. And if a topic captures my interest, I'll post in it.
Turbine?? lol, these guys are clueless. they get the best IPs and make the most shallow games. they even produced a shallow official AD&D game. Ok they got good QA, but thats about it for Turbine.
