Well as each career is different from the others, I wouldnt be able to say.

Well, Runepriest isn't in your choices...and thats where i've said my money is on the unexpected "Overpowered class" is.
Although, the Zelot sounds like it has a similar design and game mechanic...So, I'll vote there.
Something about the "Pre-Combat" preparation just rubs me the wrong way. I fully expect Rune Priests and Zelots to be running around there with all thier symbols/runes active on themselves and then just unleashing everything they have on unexpecting enemies. In my experience these "Pre-Combat" game mechanics are often very powerfull based on arguments like: "Well if you caught him without all his runes up then you would have wasted him" or "He has to spend 5 minutes before the fight getting ready".
Why not ask who will be the best NFL player in the year 3001 or which type of military vehicle will be the most armored in 50 years time or some other inane crap that nobody could know the answer to.

It's not about what "the right answer" is.
It's a speculation and discussion...for enjoyment.
Anyway, people do talk about who "the best NFL player" will be and i know guys in the millitary do talk about what "the best vehicle" is going to be....so its not at all pathetic to speculate on what could be.
If anything, it is more pathetic that you have to Open a thread, already knowing you disagree with the point of the discussion. Then you post what is effectivly a protest of the topic and an insult to everyone in it by citing the rediculous unforseeable future. And then comes me, maybe even more pathetic then you, to defend the speculation.
So in summary, if you don't have anything worthwhile to add to the topic(other then "all you guys are pathetic")...then just don't reply to it. Hell, you don't even have to open the topic.

Not like it matters anyways, they are balancing out the classes it won't be about "Overpoweredness", it will be all about skill. I have seen ALOT of video interviews and they have stated so many times that it will be all about SKILL.
Edit: didn't see Destro, sorry. (took out "No Order classes?)
as I have said quite a few times already. The most powerful class in the game is the ironbreaker. The Black ork comes 2nd, then there is a gap, then comes everyone else. The things you can do as a black ork should be outlawed in 10 states, and the Ironbreaker is just plain nasty in long fights it dosent make sense for them to hit so hard and take so little damage and stun and knock down, and debuff, you just have to play it or watch it being played.

Where do you get this information though? What kind stuff can they do that makes them so good?
I'm interested in high-damage melee class, what do you think will be the best? Orc Choppa or maybe one of those Chaos Marauders....

Where do I get my information? Im a reporter, its my job!
I have played about 10 hours of the game, from alpha client while doing the interview at the NY comicon for the site.
I have been playing mmorpgs for 16 years (no thats not a typo, and yes we did have computers back then, yes we had color TV too) So I wouldnt say my opinion will be everyones opinion, but I would say my opinion is fair and is experianced in mmo/rpg world.
If your looking for "high damage dealing melee class" (in this world they are called light tanks not DPS TANK, not leet tank, just light tank) Light tanks have higher atack power, more offensive minded skills, but wear less armor, do not use shields and have to rely on dealing damage to get by in a fight. There are only 3 light tanks so far. Choppa and Hammerer and marauder. With that being said, damage is not everything for power. I was able to kill 2 choppas with my ironbreaker. You can get very creative and stop them from doing damage, but the longer the fight goes on the more powerful you become, I cant explain it better than that, they kinda work like the reverse of a magic user. You can stop melee damage easily (but then again its your job to stop melee damage) and you can stun and knock down casting and ranged classes you have the most hit points and you deal the 2nd most physical damage after you survive long enough in the fights (with ironbreaker) the Black ork deals nice damage and gives out great debuffs in his combos. its not like warcraft where you can walk around and press 1 button every 6 sec and get a result. The black ork you have a line of combos you can pull off and each line of the combo has seperate effects. This allows you to do snazzy things like fight 2 people at the same time, kill one, just before you die to the 2nd, kick them in the privates, slam them over the head with your shield to knock them down and then stomp on them when they are on the ground and run away to cast your full health and AP regen, then start the fight again. You can throw your shield like cap america to stop people, stop people from dealing damage to other players by "taunting " them. trust me the two classes are unstoppable, i was highly unimpressed with the light tanks after playing the two primary tanks. you have to do more work to get the greater results, but the better results where still there to be had.
but those are just my opinions. If you like light tanks and hitting people with hammers and hatchets. you will love these light tanksI would compare the choppah to the bezerker of daoc in terms of damage, but would compare the ironbreaker to the "HERO" class from daoc if you want to get a comparison.

WoW, thats alot of information, so you would say 1st would be ironbreaker, 2nd would be black orc right? And thanks for the chest load of information

yes the ironbreaker will look great, until my high elf mage comes along, says "oogaleeboogalee" and your arms and legs fall off.
"The new age is upon us, yet the past refuses to rest in its shallow grave."
Look at it like this, the longer you are in a fight, the more morale you get this applies to all classes. The more morale you have the more super duper attacks (morale abilities) you can pull off.
Before you say to yourself (this would make everyone fight to not die and be cowards) you get GREATLY more morale for killing and winning.
Add to this the fact that with black ork the longer he stays in combat the stronger he becomes because he is building waaagghhh!! conversely the Ironbreaker builds grudges. grudges can come when peopel in your group get hurt or killed and when people hit you. So while playing as black ork, I was able to get in every fight, prevent damage, do little things to make people mad, wade into more combat, take more damage, and then get some kills off because i had enough morale and Waaaaggghh! other people where dying and respawning, but I pretty much stayed alive, I would say I died 2 times for everyone elses 5.
my biggest worry after playing was, you will have situations where 1 group kills another group, then another group comes and they beat them too, now winnign 2 group vs group fights in a row would have to give you a ton of morale, so the NEXT group that came up before your morale cooled off, would get decimated and this would go on and on wouldnt it (until someone outplays you and kills your party)

Thats some interesting info and a valuable perspective there.
I have 2 questions tho:
Did you get to experience any somewhat organized group PvP? or was your experience limited to a more random "zerg" between writers, developers and others in attendance?
Asumption: Classes were in limited selection/development when you got to play. Are you able to elaborate on what could be played and what was "not finished" yet?
Arn't you supposed to be limited by some kind of a NDA?
I ask the first question to gauge the situation of your experience. For example: Some classes can seem increadibly powerful when played solo in a zerg situation, and then experience the complete opposite when it comes to Groups. I can certainly see how a Tank type that gets more powerfull over time becoming rediculously strong when supported or ignored while it builds up Grudges....but at the same time i can picture that same class getting burnt down in the first few seconds of combat when facing organized opponents to prevent exactly that.
Second question is pretty self explanitory....if you were limited to playing Hammer and Ironbreaker or Choppa and Black Ork, it would clearly lend itself to favoring one class or another as the strongest class.

Well let me answer your questions in order.
1) Myself and news editor Garrett Fuller where in the same guild in daoc and also the same guild in wow. So you could call it "organized pvp", since 6 years of playing together should be enough Devs and attending media along with Public relations reps got to play against eachother 4v4, I also was given a chance to play a few 1v1 encoundets with the lead content designer. I need to post the 2 videos I took one of these days. But I didnt encounter any zerg vs zerg
2) I was able to play from the 8 total classes in the orks vs dorfs battle. I wasnt able to respec them however, and just got to play the prespeced premade tactic generic charachters. I think they where all tier 3. I was able to travel around the swamps and see seperate encounters. I cant tell you however how far along they are in development because they are going back to redo the whole Ork dorf battle. It looked like it was a working reigon to me though.
3) NDA? Well I played this in january, I havent posted much until april. But now that they are changing the content I am posting what I saw as a FAN and not as media. It was a demo however and I assume I was under no kind of NDA as you wouldnt show the press anything you didnt want printed
I have 15 years of gaming online in rpg's. So while I can be finatical at times, I dont think I saw the classes that where powerful and said they where powerful just because of the situation they where in. Others who played agree with me in what 2 classes had the most going on for them. I played choppah, Shaman about 5-6 times, runepriest once (wasnt impressed), engenier once, the ironbreaker about 4 times and the black ork about 3-4 times. never was interested in squigg hunter.
There is not alot of total CC, but theres alot of slow+speed type effects. Where as in other rpg's you get hit with CC and lose control of your charachter for 30-60 seconds, from the spells I saw out of 8 classes , nobody had one. I did see alot of slow effects and some good knock downs and even a few knock backs. So while you may be slowed you will never be totally out of a fight, and the 2 tank classes can break roots and slowing effects so it prety much balances out!
From the looks of it, there is going to be alot of pressing of the sprint key and using slow effects by lesser armored charachters.
Why not ask who will be the best NFL player in the year 3001 or which type of military vehicle will be the most armored in 50 years time or some other inane crap that nobody could know the answer to.
lol your age of conan tag gives you away my friend.

I Think this is kind of what they are shooting for with all of the classes - everyone will have the ability to put the smuack down on someboday. Judging by 90% of the rvr vids released so far it would appear that stunties do have an edge on greenskins but tbh for the most part people we not using their abilities...

It didnt seem like paper sciscor rock, but then again the only game I have ever seen use paper scisorc rock was wow. If you have a skill set that beast another skill set, you will beat that other skill set.
But no everyone dosent own at least one other person. My rune priest couldnt own anything, but I bet a group with multiple runepriest in it would own another group witout them. Every class can melee though, which puts a funny twist on most fights, but just because you CAN melee, dont think you can go toe to toe with tanks, I tried it with my runepriest and got cut down like a ripe banana.

At no point, anywhere in my post did I mention rock-paper-scissors. WAR is anti rock-paper-scissors. All character classes are able to do damage and take out enemys. Also nowhere in my post did I say all characters would be able to Mele as well as each other but i said all characters could "put the smack down ". what I should havs said was "can inflict grevious bodily harm and kill - be it by mele or casting".
I nthe build you played many people commented on how insane the squig hunters were - things have changed a good deal since then.
Ultimately at launch they are goging to have a game where no matter what character you choose you will be in the thick of fighting and be able to do acceptable damage to all enemies. This is war afterall...
As a comment to the Staff Writer guy, how much did u play the game with different classes? Is there a possibility that it's simply so that it's not those classes that are overpowered (or best or whatevah), they are just the classes that are easiest to learn how to play?
Maybe it's Engineers that are the best class, it will just take time for some1 to learn how to play them. Maybe you need experience from playing a ranged class like this before (kiting experince).
Any class that I play will be the most over-powered.
Seriously, Me > all of you.

my biggest worry after playing was, you will have situations where 1 group kills another group, then another group comes and they beat them too, now winnign 2 group vs group fights in a row would have to give you a ton of morale, so the NEXT group that came up before your morale cooled off, would get decimated and this would go on and on wouldnt it (until someone outplays you and kills your party)
Thats some interesting info and a valuable perspective there.
I have 2 questions tho:
I Think this is kind of what they are shooting for with all of the classes - everyone will have the ability to put the smuack down on someboday. Judging by 90% of the rvr vids released so far it would appear that stunties do have an edge on greenskins but tbh for the most part people we not using their abilities...

Just my first thoughts.
Any class that I play will be the most over-powered.
Seriously, Me > all of you.

You see, every mammal on this planet instinctively develops a natural equilibrium with their surrounding environment, but you humans do not. You spread to an area, and you multiply, and you multiply, until every natural resource is consumed. The only way you can survive is to spread to another area. There is another organism on this planet that follows the same pattern. Do you know what it is? A virus. Human beings are a disease, a cancer of this planet.-Mr.Smith
