Archers now have the longest range in the game - putside of nearsight range.  Their damage has been increased.  They now have self buffs and different archery styles.  You can also get MoS which will allow you to see assassins and shoot at them, so you are basically immune from being killed by assassins.  You can shoot casters from farther away than they can hit you.

Firew Wizzy's have always been annoying.  They have a level 50 bolt so it is resisted less and does more damage than Elds.  I think using the bolts against heavy tanks still isn't a good idea, but if you are after other casters or an archer that gets too close, then fire wizzies do a lot of damage.

Theurgists are also annoying as hell and are the only real pet spam class in the game.  They also have good range.

Nearsight has been boosted to 100 units beyond archery range, so they are not immune to casters with that.

You imply that MoS makes an archer class immune to assassins, but that is not entirely true.  An assassin with equal or greater MoS and stealth skills still can approach relatively close, sometimes able to get PA off.  Archers are only immune if they have camoflage on at the time.

Wizzards do decent damage, but since the archery change, and they have no nearsight capability, they have become archer target practice.

Theurgs are fotm alb caster and can launch their pets out to get those pesky archers.

That is a total myth.  MoS has nothing to do with nulifying detection range.  If an assassin has a greater MoS then they can see archers farther off.  But, once they start getting closer they will enter the archer's detect stealth range.  The archer can still see and shoot the assassin from a good distance.  The assassin can "evade" the arrows.  However, given that more than one arrow will be released before the distance is closed then the assassin will be poped from steatlh.  Once this happens, the assassin is dead.

    Archers>assassin in almost every case.

The only time an archer looses:  1.  AFK.  2.  Sucks more than is believeable.  3.  Is too low to have MoS.  4.  The assassin uses shadowstrike.  Since 4 is on a timer this is not used that often and still the assassin needs to be in an area (such as the Lab) where he can be in a corner and strike without the archer seeing the assassin before the strike goes off.

Assassins can't evade arrows anymore after the archer revamp apparently.  I have not played either stealth class since then, but have noticed that my Friar never evades arrows when he used to evade about 20% of them.

As far as I have been able to figure from mythic descriptions and my experience, MoS only has no effect in regards to assassins vs assassins.  The mos5 detect hidden bubble is 625 with all things being equal.  Any  inequality in stealth skill results in a detect hidden bubble that is adjusted.

Yeah, assassins only get MoS because it improves your movement rate.  It has no benefit against other assassins and really no benefit against archers outside of you might see one before it sees you so that you can run off.
