I heard from a certain source.....

That the game is already amazingly better than all other MMO's, and they are still tweaking the small things. This game is going to set standards for all MMO's. If a company wants to be successful they are going to have to copy Funcom, or fail. AOC will without a doubt blow out all of its competitors. Get ready to finally NOT be let down....finally.

    fear not. You can only be let down so many times. ALL of our standards are so low at this point due to failed attempts at MMO's and SOE crapping every where that this game will be like a big, refreshing, deep breath of fresh air...infact go grab a refreshing glass of water right now.

    There 8 (or so) million nubs who think that WoW is better than all other MMO's, so forgive me if I'm not having multiple orgasms because some random guy  told that AoC uber alles.

    Some companies learn from past mistakes, and build on things that worked. FunCom seems to be one of these. I was a longtime Anarchy Online player, and though I retired my toons, I still think AO was one of the best and inovative games to date.



    I've been following AOC since it was announced, and what I see is really amazing. These guys seem to have an attention to detail that seems lacking in so many releases. I'm also happy that they put off the release date to ensure delivery of a product that is as it was invisioned.

    Well unlike most failed mmo's. Funcom is taking their time with this (obviously) and they are not putting it out in hopes that the subscriptions from us will help them finish it. No, they are going to put out a full product, as they could have made like VSoH and released already, but they have not. AoC is an MMO worth the faith.

    Could care less if you're not having multiple orgasms. I would also say that there are 8 million (or so) people who stick to WoW because there is no MMO that can stand up to WoW.

    This game might not become as popular as you think due to the twitch style combat. Alot of people just won't like it. But then again a lot of people will. I really think this game will make it or break it based on the combat system.

    Beta is ongoing right now

    And who said anything about september,its final release date is october 30.

    I'm as hyped about AoC as the next MMO fan, but new games will have to "copy funcom or fail"?  That's the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard.  It's never been true in the gaming industry, and it never will be.

    WoW is a good example. Not say all other games since WoW has failed, but i exaggerated the idea with AoC because the fighting will be revolutionary. Check out this pie chart thats been around for awhile, if you havnt seen it already.

    looking forward to this game.  im still really enjoying WoW,  and this game would be a welcome addition to that game as it seems to be totally different.  hopefully Funcom has learned its lesson from the HORRID Anarchy Online launch....*Shiver*

    OP I don't know what your source is, if it's someone you know in beta, someone at Funcom or if your just kinda making it up, but I am inclined to agree. :D Funcom knows their shit, and has learned a lot since AO. Not to mention AO was way ahead of it's time and invented many systems and things used in MMOGs to this day. In Fact if a MMOG doesn't include some of these technologies, they are some how considered complete. Things like 'drag and drop chat' where you can drop an item into chat for others to see it's states. 360' flight, dynamic spawning, instancing, and much more.
    which is what makes it easy to play the blind faith card for FC and the development of AoC. I cannot say my source, sry

    Seriously, AoC has a great looking combat system.  So do Tabula Rosa, Fallen Earth, Huxley, Dark Fall, TCoS, PotBS, WAR, and Gods and Heroes.  Most next-gen games have better combat than the current point and click stuff.  That's why we call it next-gen.
