i still have my vanguard account open..i used to enjoy that game..until like 1 week ago...suddenly i didnt feel like logging into that game anymore..i felt that it took to much of my time..i used to like epic games..big worlds etc etc...but now i realize i dont have time for things that are too big/epic whatever..im just looking for some casual fun for like 2 hours a day or so...
so you think this is something i should look deeper into..(lotro that is!)
Comments
Probably. LOTRO is about as casual friendly as it gets. That is both bad and good, depending on the type of gamer you are, depends on whether it is bad for you or good for you. You won't get Vanguard or EQ1 out of this game. What you will get is something similar to WoW, but with a slight twist, and a better community "overall."
You can read the website to see if the classes and game mechanics interest you. But LOTRO is definitely a game that you can enjoy 2 hours a day.
MMORPG's w/ Max level characters: DAoC, SWG, & WoW
Currently Playing: WAR
Preferred Playstyle: Roleplay/adventurous, in a sandbox game.
It has a lot of great aspects which allow for you to hop on for a little while and just log off. Farming traits is just either finding certain places or killing specific mobs, and they don't need to be done at the same time and can be done at your leisure. It makes a great way to pass the time if your only on for a short while.
Goodluck with whatever game that peeks your interest.
Yes, you may want to go look at the LOTRO official site and do some more research on the game.
The game is solo friendly and geared toward players that have limited amounts of time to play an online game.
The majority of the community seem to be 30 years old and up (meaning that most players have real world responsibilities).
"Don't corpse-camp that idea. Its never gonna rez"
Bladezz (The Guild)
Comming form VSOH.... as long as u can over look the fact that its only 6 classes, u might really
enjoy being in a world where u actually feel like people are in it playing.....
. not some vast land of <echo echo echo> LFG...any 1 out there?
You'll probly like it. It's actually directed to more casual gamers, hardcore RPers, or people who LOVE LotR. i would give it a try its a good game.
I think you'll find that this game was made with your sort of demographic in mind. Casual players who have real world responsibilities, and who believe true achievement happens in real life and not in the digital grind. (Having said that, there is plenty to 'achieve' in LOTRO ).
There are very few pointless timesinks (that some games pass off as content). Grouping is a choice, and if you're having trouble getting a group together (or hate the PUG you're in) you can run solo missions. No wasting half an hour to find a group and then half an hour to gather the group.
There is challenge in the game. Don't let the casual nature of it fool you. If you want something more difficult, take quests that are yellow, orange, or red. You can also try solo some lower level fellowship quests, but I recommend that only if you're skilled with your class.
