I hope they don't make it all clean and "kid safe". Fallout 1-2 was all about a gritty and dangerous world were drugs, sex, violence, etc...was just a large part of the game world and culture.
Games I've played/tried out:WAR, LOTRO, Tabula Rasa, AoC, EQ1, EQ2, WoW, Vangaurd, FFXI, D&DO, Lineage 2, Saga Of Ryzom, EvE Online, DAoC, Guild Wars,Star Wars Galaxies, Hell Gate London, Auto Assault, Grando Espada ( AKA SoTNW ), Archlord, CoV/H, Star Trek Online, APB, Champions Online, FFXIV, Rift Online, GW2.

Fallout was, in my opinion, the single coolest game ever. Fallout 2 was about as good a sequal as anybody could hope for. Brotherhood of Steel was... what the hell was that all about anyway?
My biggest fear for Fallout 3 is that it's going to be Elder Scrolls: With Guns. I think I'm the only person in North America who didn't like Oblivion, thought it was ugly and boring and dull.
I say that BEFORE I go looking at the website hoping I'm wrong.

I'd be hard pressed to name a game I liked more than Fallout 1. Maybe Fallout 2.
That fact that you could play on even after finishing the main story was something I miss in other games. I hope Fallout 3 gives us the same freedom.

But Bethdasoft does good work in general so I might check it out, who knows they may even make Fallout fun.

I recommend you check the site and forums and also fallout resources like DuckAndCover or NoMutantsAllowed, to put it short, its probably gonna end up as Oblivion with guns. According to dev interviews where there is basically confirmed that Beth is going to stick with what they do best, there is little chance we are going to see top down turn based game like the originals. I cannot imagine how the combat will work in real time 1st/3rd person view, SPECIAL is made for turn based strategic play specifically.
Anyway, from reading all the info and interviews, I got the feeling its gonna be a dumbed down (its comming also to consoles, go figure) rpg aimed for the masses, fans (worshipers) of the original Fallouts will not find it to be the sequel they were waiting for. Its probably gonna be a decent game in the same sense the recent Elder Scrolls are and I'm gonna buy and play it, however those of us that were waiting for a pure blood sequel are gonna be disappointed.

Bethseda are some of the most useless game devs on the planet.
Morrowwind was a joke, Oblivion was just plain rubbish.
Their going to rape the license for every penny that can get.
Morrowind was a very good game. That was fun.

the original guys who made fallout1&2 still own the rights to a fallout mmo license aparently i read that someplace cant remember where.
