Its a good game IMO, and i hope it does well. (Even the haters have to understand every successfull MMORPG brings more money into the sector and more customers thus increasing the chance of more and better MMORPG's being released)
Cheers
Shameless...I know.
I'm playing LoTR as well and I like it, but its not the top selling PC game. If you want to go see what the real top selling PC titles are you should go to firingsquad that publishes the top 10 list of all PC games sold in the U.S., not just online retailers. Anyway here is the last NPD sales list:
http://www.firingsquad.com/news/newsarticle.asp?searchid=15311
2. World Of Warcraft: Burning Crusade - Blizzard
3. World Of Warcraft - Blizzard
4. The Sims 2 Celebration Stuff - Electronic Arts
5. The Sims 2 Seasons - Electronic Arts
6. The Sims 2 - Electronic Arts
7. Lord of the Rings Online: Shadows Of Angmar - Turbine/Midway
8. Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Shivering Isles - Bethesda Softworks/2K Games
9. S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow Of Chernobyl - THQ
10. The Sims 2 Pets - Electronic Arts
Lotro has the benefit of actually releasing a playable and enjoyable game from the get-go. How long it lasts will be entirely up to Turbine with the regularity of content updates etc. It actually makes sense that it would be the number one selling game. They took the lore of JRR Tolkien and treated it with respect. Had another company taken the same amount of care and shown the same amount of respect for the IP they had gotten their game would probably still be a top seller today

Ok back to LotRo and MMO's in general
This in turn has done wonders for the MMO industry as a whole. Look at this web site and how much success they've had since the fall of 2004! I wonder how many would have tried some of the lesser known or newer MMO's on the market if EQ 2 or WoW weren't so successful or weren't even created? How many total dollars have been spent on or around these games? What about the stock market? What effect has Blizzard or NCSoft, or SOE had on the NYSE?
Love it or hate it, WoW really got this phenomenon going back in 2004. Now, look at it! HOw many of you guys got your start with EverQuest or WoW? Of course now as you look down the left hand side of this page, count the total number of MMO's now in existence and to be released.

1. During the base building missions, you can pretty much use the same strategy to win every one. Build a good defense, level up 6 of your most powerful units to general rank, then use them to wipe out the enemy. However, its still very fun to do so . Especially Nod Avatars and the alien Walkers. Pew pew lasers!
2. Formations would have been nice. Sometimes positioning your units can be frustrating when one wrong click causes 3 units to move out of the way, and need to be repositioned separately.
Anyway, yeah, if you like RTS games, you can't really go wrong with CnC3. An overall great experience. I'm replaying it again on Hard Mode, and its definitely more interesting.
Equal opportunity troll.
LOTRO is a descent game no doubt, but what is missing here is the obvious response...
"you do know there are no other MMO's on that list right?"
I mean, name a MMO coming soon? not for a few months, it was good timing on their part on the release date, there is nothing out worth playing atm so the choices are slim. As far as CnC goes it has been out now for awhile and was in first for a bit.. not an MMO mind you, but as far as computer games goes there really isn't anything out worth getting, Heck I have to wait for another month before i can get my hands on Overlord , now that should be fun, always loved the dungeon keeper series.
Salu!
Edit: VG dosn't count, ummm it's like Mourning, never really happend in my world lol..
