Are there any friendly guilds left in this game?

Before you get out your pitchforks and torches hear me out.

I've been looking for a guild for well over a week with no luck. I find what might be a sliver of hope and they havent been in game for weeks, which means they most likely quit. Thats not the worst of it, I apply to some that are very active and one of them bans me from there forums. Maybe it's because Im mostly interested in PvE and some RP, but Im not against RvR and would join in on that even though Im not much of a PvP person. So I ask any of you that still play this game, are there any friendly decent guilds still in this game?

I would prefer one on the classic servers as I have no interest in what TOA did to the game.

I've been to the VN boards, their guildlist hasnt been updated since 9/06 so if there are other sites that are more up to date please send me the link.

    I think that your problem comes down to what you are looking for, where you are looking, and what realm/server you are playing.  Also, most people only deal with guilds once you are playing the game.  I am not sure if you have done that or not, but if you are just looking on boards, that is simply not going to give you what you want.



    So here are some suggestions:



    1.  Do not be afraid of ToA.  If what you mostly want is PvE, then you will have a much better time of it on the ToA than the classic servers.  Most of the classic players are build around RvR and avoid PvE (that is why they play on an server without ToA).  ToA is getting nerfed again where almost everything can be done with a group.  So no need for huge raids any longer.



    2.  If what you want is PvE then try the Co-Op server.  The server is filled with very nice people and you have a better chance at finding RP than on Classic.



    3.  Try the RP servers - that is what they are there for.  Chances of finding RP guilds in mmo's is hard.  It is almost impossible on non-RP servers.



    4.  Be willing to compromise what you are looking for.  I mean in my guild, they commonly invite new people to the game.  They help them out with getting them equipment and leveling.  Answer questions and so forth.  What the guild will never do is sit around and pretend to be our characters and have conversations in characater while slaughtering.  That type of thing never appealed to any of us, and it doesn't to 99% on mmo players in the world. 



    5.  Most important - pick a server, pick a realm, make a toon and start playing the game.   Try to group up with other lower level people.  Put on your looking for guild flag.  As long as you are not demanding and saying I am looking for this and this and are you such as such guild, and instead have fun, make some in game friends, then you should have a guild very soon.  Also, play Hib, they are much nicer than Alb or Mid

    Although the guild I am in is not a roleplaying guild, we will gladly accept you if you care to join. We do plenty of PvE and some RvR as well. We are on the Bossiney Cluster  in the realm of Midgard and our guild name is Last of the Mojos.



    Just message varsreturn-e in game or look for anyone thats in Last of the Mojos and ask if u can join guild.

    Start your own guild.

    Unless making a guild is hard, I don't know.

    Besides, I play on classic, and im looking for a nice guild, mostly the same as you.

    If you are looking for a guild just ask some peeps are there guild recruiting some peeps are real friendly and will give you a simple answer thats how I found a guild for my friar on the classic server.

    If you're still interested, I can recommend the Calamitous Intent on the MorganLaFey server, I group with them frequently.  They tend to be nightowls, esp. Fridays.  Think they're based out of TX, but could be wrong.  The guild-leaders are way cool and are laid back when it comes to asking questions, plus they have enough in-game alliance contacts that if they don't know, they can find out in a few days.
