I buy it from my local supermarket and it is the UK version. Why would they sell the US version in UK stores? Both mags have the same publisher, but I know for a fact, UK version uses a 10 point scale, if the didn't they would have all the web reviews as a % ? PC gamer U.S. gave WoW a 94% and Editors Choice award, that is a fact. I still have my Issue 2 Volume 1 Pc Gamer Magazine from 1994, I have a good many issues that I have collected and have been an avid reader for well over 13 years now .
A search of the online site has no mention of LoTRO anywhere and as has been pointed out th UK version uses a 1 - 10 scale.
Mate i am Scottish therefor i live in the UNITED KINGDOM where i have been purchasing PCGAMER from my local supermarket for the past 5 years. The scores range from 1 to 100 PERCENT, you do not even live in the UK and therefor have NO first hand knowledge of the scoring methods used by the UK review team. Well mate I am not scottish but I do knowe how to use google and a here is the link I get when I google using PCGamer UK

then if I click on reviews the ratings are on a 1 to 10 scale
now I would hop on a plane and fly over there and pick up a copy but to be honest the only review I really give a shit about is my own
Then trust me mate it's only the website that does it 1 - 10. The UK mag uses percent just like the US one. well I have no reason to doubt you, but you have to admit it is just weird they use one format for the print version and another for the online is all
What is the reviewers name that did the review for LotRO. I just having a hard time beleiving that they use 2 separate systems to review the games on. It is like a x2 review ?
I wouldn't put much stock in a review of LotRO at this point... doubtful the reviewer has reached even level 20 yet..much less 40 or higher... which is when these games should really be reviewed.....

out of curiosity how does Pgamer UK give a79% when the use a 10 point scale ?
I have been buying PCGAMER UK for the past 5 years and have never seen them use a 10 point scale, it has always been scored from 1 to 100 %.
Also i wouldn't trust PCGAMER's scores on MMO's as they gave WoW 94% (LOL).
thats actually a good reason to trust PCGAMER, because almost EVERY website related to gaming and game magazine give WoW a score like that.
UK PCGamer's reviews of MMOs are usually terrible - its usually pretty obvious they base reviews on the newbie areas. The PCGamer WOW review for instance lauded the game for quest based adventuring etc and IN THE SAME ISSUE slagged off EQ2 for doing the same thing. Reviews always come down to opinions but consistency is nice. That said 80%ish seems fair for LOTRO, although 94% is just ridculous for WOW. PCGamer is anice magazine, but I would never buy or not buy an MMO on their reviews - they just don't know the genre.
